Hi Miles,

Do you know if there are passenger restrictions on the parade lap? I'll be three-up, wondering if that'll be a problem?

Cheers
Woody

...I dont know if it'll be an issue, but if it is, I'll need to paper-scissors-rock with the wife! :)
Apologies if I've misunderstood your Q Woody, but are you asking if passengers are allowed on the parade lap(s)? If so then, usually yes they are. Restrictions to back seat passengers tend to be if they're hot or racing laps (parade laps tend to be limited to a certain speed etc. and typically don't require the use of a helmet.) As there are going to be around 200 Masers doing these parade laps, and no comm's have been sent saying that helmets are required, this leans towards a the typical format of parade laps, i.e. passengers would be allowed.

If your Q is asking about number of passengers, and someone needs a ride, I will probably have 1 or 2 spare seats should anyone need a ride and doesn't mind being in the back of 'MC2'.

Looking forward to this :)

Cheers,
T

I can think of one 14 year old who'd leap at the chance, but there are probably more deserving candidates ;)

I think Woody is wondering, like me, how many we're allowed to take in the car. As far as I know the ticket is for the car, so I was planning on bringing the nephew along with Mrs Catman, but Woddy's question seemed apposite.

I didn't know you were only 14 yrs old C lol.
But seriously though, if there's a spare seat and your nephew fancies going in my car, then fine. Just grab me on the day and I'll see if there's spare room.

Regarding tickets, I thought the CCD package consisted of 2 adult tkts(?) If a child tkt is bought as well, then it shouldn't be a problem, as the tickets are admission to the venue. Once you're in and in the paddock area, then you can typically have whoever you like in the car, even a young hot blonde that you find on the day if you're lucky LOL

Its specifically because my wife and little 'un are coming with me. My little girl will be c18 months old and I wanted to know if it'll be a problem.

I dont expect it to be a 'hot lap' but thought it best to ask. In seriousness, I;'m sure my wife would sit on the sidelines but I'd much much rather they were able to come along.

Hmmm, 18months old is quite young. They may have a under xx age policy. The venue officials should know though, so you may be able to contact them and find out before the day.

Every parade lap I've seen has been at pretty low speed, absolutely NO overtaking, and with no restriction on passengers. I'd be surprised to get out of 3rd gear...

Happy to slot people into my QP too.

OK, ta. Just dont want to have to turf them out in the pit lane! LOL!

A parade lap will likely be far less hazardous than the drive to and from Silverstone, imho!
Yeah, I'd agree. However, Silverstone's public liability insurance wont be covering me on my way to and from :D

You've met Mrs Catman!

Checking the details for the CCD, you are correct. So I may have to pay another £5.50 for him. Hmm, is he worth it..... ;)

If I may,
The club tickets we have purchased admit 1 car and 2 Adults only. If anymore are in the car I am sure more tickets are needed to be purchased. This info is gained from the Silverstone website as I checked as I'm bringing a mate along and enquired if I needed additional ticket for him.

That's true for admission to the circuit, but once inside, I can't imagine there will be limits on passengers for the parade lap, save for not exceeding the designed capacity.

I seem to recall under 2's are free. Mind, dont imagine there will be loads of them! :)

Hi Woody, hope you're well?

Let me ask the question, but if I can ask for a little time as it will take a while to answer for certain. My expectation is that it will be fine so long as everyone is suitably secured, however given the young age of your passenger I should mention the likelihood of a long wait in the marshalling area.
