Of I did that with go pro camera I would likely get a punch when the girlfriend notices my wondering eyes!
Very good point Peter, I hadn't thought of that. Note to self - don't perv at girls when wearing a GoPro on your head! LOL

I'll try and get photos and video of as many of you as I can, since I'm relegated to sitting trackside :)

I originally didn't buy tickets as the Bora isn't ready but was given some weekend tickets yesterday :) So my GS Spyder and two of my other cars will now be displayed outside the Silverstone Racing Club over the weekend. Hope to see some of you there.

Friggin' car is now highly unlikely to be back from Maranello come the weekend. They bloody well moved the booking back, with the assurance it'd still be fixed in time, and now surprise, surprise it is highly unlikely. Talk about pissing money away on wasted tickets - unless you want a Volvo in the convoy - and utter frustration at such incompetence.

I guess the writing was on the wall when they first checked the car and couldn't hear or see anything wrong - until I then took it back to them and immediately the response was "oh yeah...we'd best get it back in". So, not just 'Italian' style cars and their foibles, but the dealerships too.

:frusty5: :firing3::ohh::ohh::ohh:

That's a real shame. It's bad enough the dealer hasn't sorted the car out for you, but to then leave you without it on the weekend of THE biggest UK Maserati celebration this year takes the mick! :(

On slightly other news, Maserati UK have confirmed that, rather disappointingly, the Alfieri concept car won't be at the Silverstone Classic this weekend :(

Can't they offer something as a loaner, just for the weekend? If you told them about the parade tickets maybe you'd get some response - even if it has a logo on the door!

That's actually not a bad idea Chris, the only slight issue being the car reg. but just swap the plates over in the paddock area to suit LOL.

BTW, did your nephew still want a passenger ride in MC2? If so, can you PM me his name so I can put it on the 'Signing on Sheet'.

Cheers,
T

I may try that - they could get some free publicity after all, I guess! I told them that this was happening - and at the time of the booking hence the absolute need to have it back - which makes it all the more disappointing. I'll try for a GranCabrio :)

Speak to Howard Rose the MD of Maranello. He's been very responsive, good with customer service and generally a very good person to deal with when I have previously had an issue.

Would my Alfa 159 be too lowly to park at the back of the Maserati area - it's just my tickets are based on Reg No which I transferred from my old 3200 to the current Alfa but I bought the tickets when I had the 3200 if that makes sense?? So Reg No is OK but car isn't - it would be nice to put faces to names even if I'm no longer an owner :blushed:

Thanks for the advice. I shall see what tomorrow morning brings as they're trying to solve the problem...and may then seek out Mr Rose!

I don't they would allow the parking in the Maserati section, but you should get in with the ticket, just put your car on the form and try to blag it..!!

Absolutely nothing but Maserati cars in the Maser area, but there must be an Alfa club going, surely? Please come to see everyone, regardless of where you park!

Looks like Maranello are sorting the issue and will now be delivering the car back on Saturday morning, presuming they acquire the parts from a.n.other dealer today. Panic over, hopefully, and in fairness that's decent customer service from them. I'm a great believer in going that little bit further and it pays back in the long run.

Many thanks to those who responded and offered advice - and indeed offered a loan car, greatly appreciated! You wouldn't get that on certain other forums <cough PH, cough...>
