So, I'm now the chauffeur for my daughter and 2 friends for prom, the car is all shiny and clean.

They would like to make an entrance and want me to make some noise when we pull up - I've a Duo select, so what's the best? Stop, neutral and a general prod to 5k? Or just nail the pedal and bounce off the limiter a few times!?

From my experience (about 12 proms so far) the mums will be all panicky and send you off WAY too early so go with it, take them on a thrill ride the long way round so you arrive late-on time, that way there will be plenty of their friends there (who’s rooky drivers got them straight there) to see/hear them arrive. Just check their mates don’t get travel sick before the thrill ride!

That said; the last prom I took my niece to was for an all girls school, no +1's, literally they (staff) opened the door of the car, took the girl(s) out, bag searched them at the car and marched them into the venue! Out of sight of the entrance so they may as well have taken the bus...

So make sure you can find a nice location for photos with the car en-route.

There is a photo shoot spot just by the entrance, but finding somewhere beforehand and taking a few pics is certainly something I'd not thought of and a good way to burn a few excess minutes!

Two years ago I did a prom for a neighbour's daughter who was 1 year old when we moved here, and tomorrow I'm taking her sister; as if I didn't feel ancient enough already lol. Tomorrow's run is only a short one so I took the lass and her dad out last night, and tomorrow she'll have a young man with her so we'll take a long route to the venue.

Don't forget the Sport button for a bit of added panache.

Sport is always active!! Unless I'm negotiating speed bumps!

I love to hear the clumps as the actuators push the stick about and feel the kick as the box changes gear... so much more satisfying than the car slipping up and down pretending to be an auto!!

As you have a duo-select, please do not restrict to 5k :) .
Autos and MC-Shifts don't do more than 5k in neutral.
Take it to the limit. :1408:

Mine is a full auto, and apparently from a standing start or kickdown its 405lbft of torque it can be quite entertaining. I must try that sometime.....
