In my opinion if we are talking about future resale, or current value, what does knowledge of the history etc matter? Maserati IS a "luxury" name. As a brand it has unquestionably become more desirable as a result of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio - you only need to see how many more of them are around and the reaction to them.
The result is that the brand as a whole is worth more. 3200s, 4200s, and GS's are all worth more as the brand is more desirable and there is a larger market for all of the modern Maseratis.
Attempting to look into the future and trying to guess how much a car will be worth is predicting the future and impossible. The 3200 may always be seen as the one with the best styling due to the boomerang. It may also be seen as the prototype, that was refined with the 4200 and perfected with the GS. It may not. Who knows?
What i do know is that there is no material tangible object that I have ever bought for myself that I have enjoyed more. Even when I'm leaving the house on my way to the station to go to work, I glance over at the car in the driveway and I smile.
