Not sure if I can make this yet, will advise later, but Hopetoun looks good, then we need some nice driving roads. We would have a 4 hour drive to get up there..!!

I have had a few loose thoughts on the drive but we could visit potentially one or all of - the loch in Glendevon (good photospot in the right weather) dollar glen (possibly too lumpy a road for the cars) the brewery in Alloa, Stirling castle, and or the ancient historic culross? all in a shortish loop from Hopetoun to Airth.

hmm sounds fascinating-

sorry to appear contrary, but I quite fancied the Dunkeld option!

But I think we are blowing away from that now? Any opportunity to drive the A9 always gets me out! (although it doesn't really heat up by then; you've got to wait to post Layby 66 going North...)

I'll be there (wherever) for the 29th March...

we'll need to get name badges!!

I live just north of inverness and looking for a 4200, pref a dark colour with a cream interior..........garage waiting:saifi3:. was hoping to start my search in earnest after I got back from my hols last weekend but other commitments will make it tight to travel south to look at what is on offer so looking more like end of april/may before I will have space........besides, another couple of months saving should mean I can hold onto the alfa gt.......might be diesel but still one of the most reliable daily cars I've ever had.

The place at Dunkeld is a great place for a weekend stay, for sure and the roads around there are quieter, and less likely to have cameras. I thought of it first, I stayed there one time and it was good, its in a great location.

I guess I started looking at locations further south, so help the folks coming up from north of England so it would not be so far to get to!

This may help you decide. My better half has just pointed out that while I am free during the day I have to be at a dinner for 7pm on that evening so unfortunately will have to call off as it's a good 4 hours back down. Sorry but will catch up with you all at some point.

Ah, well we don't want to exclude anyone- the further South the better then.

I'd be very happy with that.

looking forward to meeting you Highlander (and everyone else!)

I should add I was thinking of making a weekend out of it (not suggested any one else has to!) so i am looking to get into a hotel some where. This is why I suggested the Airth Castle or the Hilton Dunkeld as the end point of the day out as I was selfishly trying to end up having an nice dinner, some where. I know most of you are maybe planning a day out and a wee run, but some of the folks here coming from further away might want to consider this too?

ok not sure if there is another thread going some where, but i plan to go stay at the Mcdonald forest hills resort near Aberfoyle, on the Saturday night. so still up for meeting up in central belt just for a coffee on the Saturday, possibly a run to a sight, or photo location some where. However having made a few suggestions with no response I am not sure what we are all expecting? Let me know where we plan to meet and I will be there, the car is running for a change so best make the most of it! Any one fancies the drive up to the Mcdonald place no problem would be great.

have they fixed the road to there? seem to recall it had potholes the size of swimming pools the last time I went to pick "the boss" up from her weekend with her mother?

aye the roads up that way can require some attention for sure. Would not recommend a convoy of fast moving maseratis tearing through there, could be a very expensive run! Just a place I fancy visiting while i am down that way. hope we can decide on a meeting point.

Guys, I'm having an unexpected work issue which is getting in the way of arranging this meet. I will be there for sure but can I ask someone to take over and make arrangements please? I can't commit the time needed to make it a decent event. Sorry!

Wherever you choose to have it, I will be there.

Hey Davy83-

sorry, I (personally) don't mean to 'go quiet' on you- just trying to be accommodating and witness a show of opinion before replying!

I shall look into the Aberfoyle place- but chances are as I stay in Edinburgh- I'll just come up on the day /days.

Looking forward to meeting you anyway
