OK Guys, sorry for the delay here is the revised plans for October 2010.

Trip will be 1-3 October [Fri-Sun] and our destination this year will be a little further afield so you can enjoy those open roads that little bit more.

Early departure on Friday via Channel Tunnel, if we get 15 cars we will have a dedicated carriage and loading together plus discounted crossing.

We then drive to the coast to Honfleur / Deauville which is about 170 miles further than last year, so about 3 ½ hours. I have chosen this destination for the following reasons.

On that weekend there is a large Classic Car event starting in Paris and spending the weekend in Deauville. On the Sunday morning there will be a Concours d’elegance at the race course which I hope to arrange for us to attend as a group if you would like.

Also the port of Honfleur is having a Sea Food festival, so plenty of Oyster, Lobster and Mussels to gorge on, as well as fire works in the evening [in celebration of us visiting...well maybe???].

The two areas are very close and provide both a bustling town, or quite sea side port [Whitby-sur-Mer if you wish]. There will be plenty to entertain both the guys and Gals as well as any children who may be coming.

We will return on Sunday to catch the 17:00 crossing.

More details will be posted this weekend once a good hotel is found, but due to the events you will have to be prompt booking your rooms as the resort is likely to fill up very fast. Provisional names are.

More details;
Arrive at the Tunnel terminal for 08:15 for our train which departs at 09:00, don’t be late.

After arriving in France we will head south towards our hotel stopping at one of the small market towns for lunch.

Our hotel in Honfleaure, the Hotel Spa Antares, http://www.antareshonfleur.com/ it is a small hotel, reasonable priced at €210 per couple for both nights Bed and Breakfast. We should arrive there for about 3:30.There is a large secure car-park which we are also getting FOC. The hotel has a pool and a spa so it’s not all driving and eating. There will then be free time for you to explore the charming port which over this weekend is having its annual Sea Food Festival.

The weekend also sees the Paris to Deauville Classic Car rally so expect to see lots of stunning vintage cars over the weekend.

We have booked a small Bistro for an evening meal, www.lesdeuxponts.fr but you are welcome to find your own place if you so wish.

Day 2
After enjoying a Lazy morning and a late breakfast we will leave our base at 10:30 for trip around the local area. I will provide detailed maps for each driver/navigator listing all the villages on the route, as such you will be able to drive as quick or as slow as you like. The trip will be punctuated by a stop for lunch at Le Dauphin Restaurant in L’Aigle. http://www.hotel-dauphin.fr/uk/index.php

Prices are from just €12 and there is plenty of parking at both the front and rear.

After lunch we will return to Honfleur passing through some of the prettiest villages in the area. The rest of the afternoon will free for you to enjoy.

Saturday evening will be a Black Tie event spent at the Casino Trouville Sur Mer, www.lucienbarriere.com there will be a set meal with two menu choices for €50 which also gives you a welcome drink & a €15 flutter on the tables. We had a fabulous time last year with just Sophie coming away with less than she started, but it was my money so she did not mind! After the evenings events you can enjoy cocktails at the bar and night club [up to 4 am] or rest your weary feet and catch an early cab back to the hotel.

Day 3
After another leisurely start to the day we head to Deauville Horse Racing Track for the Concourse d’elegance of the Paris to Deauville Classic Car event. We will be there for 10:00-12:00 so you can grab a bite to eat at the show or in the town which is just outside the gates.

We will depart Deauville at about 14:00 to take a leisurely drive back to Calais

I have also been brushing up on the old conversation bit aswell, (Yes, I know that my West London tones are a bit hard to understand at times)

Yes Peter, am keen to get this booked up, so ready when you are.

Would anyone object if I offer a place to David and his wife Sally. They came on the Le Mans trip with myself, Loz, Lewis and Frank?

He has a Corvette C6, ok its no Maser, but it is comparable performance wise with our Masers, and he is a top man.

I would not be offended if this would be frowned upon, and he might not wish to come anyway, what with the Maser dominance.
