Rim protection

On the surface it looks good but as always....2 things spring to mind.......one is that if the wheels get kerbed then that plastic will wear away fast or fold out the way anyway and two is that the method of fitting breaks or compromises the seal of the tyre to the rim.
I would guess that you would be forever pumping up your tyres.
THe best solution to this kerbing is simply to leave a large enough gap between car and kerb.
still interesting shak

Thanks Enzo. But Adam may be right - could be a load of croc! Will keep an eye on ML and report back as some of the posters are going to give it a try.

what!!!!!!!!!!!!! there going to intentionally "kerb" there alloys...??? LOL!!
Sorry to Po Poo yor find shak,It may be the product of the century.
I just dont know who would buy it as once fitted what you gonna do? Not worry about kerbing your alloys? park in a blaze manner cause the rim protectors will save you?
I have hit the kerb once and i will endevour to never do it again,
Yes, i get the usual comments of "ah thats OK adam, thanks for the lift, I can walk to the kerb from here" but hey i was gutted when i hit the kerb!

Aarrgh - Just kerbed two of my rims. Not badly but any kerbing is bad. What a quick way to blow the £120 or so refurb cost! Sorely tempted by these alloygator things.

Been there done that and I know it stings. However, get them done and life returns to normal fairly quickly with no lasting damage.

Correct. I always back-up to the wall when there are 3200 and Porsche drivers about. ;)

Blah all my rims are kerbed. Some spots are just too tight.

I saw someone with these on and he says they are fine. £100 vs £400 every year refurbishing my wheels??

I am going to get some put on next weekend.

But some streets are too narrow. If I am not against the kerb someone would side wall the car.

These things work, had them before. They don't look that amazing though but not too obvious. Just don't get a contrasting colour like red on black wheels. That's too max power for our cars !

I bought a set for my 3200 but never fitted them - open to offers if anybody wants a set? - silver colour so will blend in nicely with most alloys.

pm me if interested

They don't work with Pirelli P zeros, mine flew off on the motorway causing paint damage, they are suppose to be bringing out a new design, but I've been waiting for 12 months so far !!

I looked at the website and they say version 2 is out. The guy who had them on p zeros and on a maserati Granturismo. Were they fitted properly? I.e. Deflate the tyre before installing.

Just had a look on their web site and it appears they have metal inserts now...I assume to grip better to the rubber tyre.
