Real differences between GranSport and normal cars

Cracking and more often buckling / denting is common with the 19" wheels but was never an issue with my 4200s which both had seven spokes.

The lower profile tyres on, and thinner wheel spokes of, the 19 inch GS wheels may well have an effect. As will the fact that the more sporty feel of the GS makes one drive it more "energetically" (even on poor roads) than the more genteel 4200 coupe. There's no doubt that the 4200 coupe is a more forgiving ride, so if the springs and dampers are the same, the wheels, tyres and ride height settings must be the reasons.
