Well they are going for 15-20k in GBP equivalent but as said what confuses me most is that most of these are Left Hookers.

That's easy Phil. If you drive a LH car in Japan it shows off that you have an (expensively) imported (European or American) car. Many cred points with your mates. Apparently most old style minis in japan are LHD even though they are British!
