Quick help guys please - QPV Sport GT pads - recommendations…..

Morning all,

Took the “project” QPV out last Friday around the M25 whilst looking for a first car for my daughter and realised that the brakes are totally *******! Huge amounts of judder under heavy breaking and total lack of stopping power. As I only usually use the car to pootle to the local gym, I do not get to test the brakes out under heavy load braking.

I have looked at the discs and they seem okay although I do not have a micrometer to test them so I will start with the pads and see where we go from there, however long term I want to get a big brake upgrade but will all be part of the “QPV RestoMod” project…

So does anyone have any recommendations of pads for the Sport GT (2006)? I’ll try and order them today and get them fitted this week if possible.

Appreciate the advice from the community.

Cheers!

So it depends on your price point. You can get a Ferodo FDS1996 which is a good pad, for about £60. There are others that are cheaper. Ferodo don’t do a DS Performance version of this pad, but they do DS2500 (FCP1334) although not R90 legal and doesn’t have the cut out for the wear sensor.

Interesting subject, being struggling with the eurospares supplied aftermarket fitted and may change sooner than later. I looked up FDS1996 but only found FDB1996 (https://www.ferodo.com/catalogue/52...ch_type=vehicle&brand_id=876&category_id=1||1). May I confirm the model ?
