Correct, although Diana Dors and Ruth Ellis were both in Lady Godiva Rides Again. That's their connection, the later film is ironic that Dors played an Ellis like character.

Why is it not possible to have an EU compliant plate on an NI registered car?

This is a "GB", thing I assume. So it might be possible to have the EU-compliant "GB" symbol on a NI plate (is that allowed?), but it would be a little weird since NI is not in Great Britain. I suppose the EU standard should really be "UK".

Answer is correct, but I'm fecking certain I answered so with a compelling story of why we didn't get UK, basically cos Ukraine wanted it as well, so we got GB and they got UA as a punishment for squabbling!
