What is the highest denomination banknote ever issued in the UK to feature a woman (not including Queen Elizabeth II), and who is/was the woman?

The Queen Mother was on a Scottish commemorative £20 bank note to celebrate her 100th birthday

True, but not the answer:
- The Queen Mother was Royal Bank of Scotland £20 from 2000

....but interesting idea to include Scottish notes....

Wasn't there a £1million pound note produced with Queen Victoria's boat on it.

Something to do with paying for a war?

Elizabeth Fry was on an old £5 and Jane Austen is on the £10 and Florence Nightingale was on the old £10 but I suspect none of those are what you are looking for.

You were right; I was being sneaky.

So we might be looking at some of the notes that were for internal bank use only and that were around when we had a queen other than Lizzy 2, which points to Lizzy 1 or Vicky. There were alsorts of strange denominations including £1 million pound denominations. As you can see I don't know just surmising

There was no mention of legal tender and most that are for sale are over £20 ;)

Ah, apologies, was just a general observation rather than specific comment. Was told years back that all Scottish notes aren't legal as they're not printed by BoE.
