Sussed it, feathers on the basis that Gold is weighed in Troy measures where an ounce is less than that of the normal system
And there's only 12 to the troy pound. Over to you, sir

I know the question master is always right but a troy ounce is 31 point something grammes and an imperial ounce is 28 point something grammes so :
If the question means traditional measure of one ounce then gold is heavier than feathers.
If you mean by traditional measure one pound in weight then feathers are heavier as 12 x 31 = 372 grammes is lighter than 16 x 28 = 448 grammes.
I cant remember what the exact decimal places are after 28 and 31 grammes but the correct answer changes depending on the weight involved in ounces.
<wiki>
Troy weight is a system of units of mass customarily used for precious metals and gemstones. There are 12 troy ounces per troy pound,[1] (373.24 g) rather than the 16 ounces per pound (453.59 g) found in the more common avoirdupois system.
OK?

OK why you two are arguing another quick one
How many official Land Speed Record holders have there been and how many can you actually name?
I never understood the fly and the train question either
It's not meant as an argument Chris. Im obviously missing something in the finesse of the question. I just dont understand that the answer is feathers unless your talking about a specific weight.
Im assuming the word traditional measure must mean a pound and thats why the answer is feathers. A troy pound being lighter than an imperial pound regardless of the fact that a troy ounce is heavier than an imperial ounce as there are less troy ounces to a troy pound.
So the word tradional in the question actually means a pound in weight by the measuring system used for that item.
I never understood the fly and the train question either
I have no idea if we are including all the individual categories.
Car, motorbike, bike, land yacht im sure there are others as well.
Well there was Thrust and Thrust 2 I *think*
Damned if I can remember the guy's name. He was a Squadron Leader I think, ex Tornado
