Quattroporte Vs Listed For Sale

I am now eyeing the Spyder and pondering an "either/or" scenario. The Coupe stays til one of us dies. And maybe even after. But am thinking through the utility factor...and found a Sport GT with DuoSelect that is very tempting. Of course, "both/and" can work, but it's a struggle to get any real mileage on the Spyder as things are, even now. Hmmmm.

Any thoughts?
...really? No one here wants to venture an opinion...?

Like me you fancy a QPV F1 and having a Coupé which is a Great GT car I had two over an 8 year period both served me well in the UK and NZ there's an itch to be scratched and what value they are.
So there you have it move on the Spyder.

Thanks, @philw696...was afraid I'd become a leper; opinions aren't generally lacking here! Appreciate the reassurance/enabling!

Buy the QPV (thus far I love mine and the transmission suits it perfectly imo) and keep the Coupe if you. Then decide which one you’d miss more?
Thanks. I know I can't part with the Coupe, for a ton of reasons...including the fact it's got a Trofeo replacement motor. I have been looking out for a QP V, and thought the Sport GT with DuoSelect was the best option, generally...and a one-owner car just appeared, local to me. The Spyder really only gets driven in the shoulder seasons here, or summer evenings, because it's just oppressively hot and humid here...

Almost impulse buy money.

Very clean MOT history however it's a DS, so you'd probably *want* to budget for a clutch. The last MOT was only 2k ago, and all tyres were getting ropey so *maybe* 4 new tyres. Then there's a misfire which might be anything from plugs / coil packs to screwed variators.....

(Can you tell I'm trying to wear my sensible head?)

no variator issue on DS cars I believe

Get the DS Sport GT - arguably the best of the QP V choices (as the GTS cars have auto boxes. Boo Hiss). It's a nicer car to drive than the Spyder, with no scuttle shake. Plus the Spyder could seem too similar to your Coupe.
So, keep the Coupe, and get the QP.

Hi Catman, Might just be me but that link doesn’t work.

Hmmm, works fine for me.

There's the car

Not a Sport GTS. But possibly a Sport GT.
(There’s no such thing as a Sport GTS with a DS gearbox. All GTS are auto.)

Went to see the QPV today. Battery dead...so jumped it off. Slashed rear passenger tire, so no driving. Overall looks decent, but couldn't do a hardcore check. No stored fault codes. Some stickies; broken hasp on rear center armrest; the vent function of the sunroof doesn't work, but sliding does. Good heat and air, and other than the slashed tire they are all relatively new Conti Cross Contacts on all four corners. Seemed like a motor mount may be needed, but all I have to go on was a mild rev in the lot when warm. Dealer is going to get tire and battery, and we will see where/if we go from here...

Sounds encouraging in that you’ve a few sticks to beat the dealer with on price on a car they don’t seem that interested in? Good luck with it as you seem to have an itch which needs scratching.
