I've been offered a Duo Select 05 /54 car with 45k miles, needs a few bits doing like suspension bushes etc (ouch) but has decent clutch wear etc.. I'm thinking of bidding 8k for it and hope to do the jobs and shift it on but again they might be the sort of car that takes an age to shift!

I've been looking at QPs over the last few months and it's the same 20 or so cars being advertised everywhere so they're definitely not a quick seller

For a car to sell privately it needs to have a good service history and have had all the expensive jobs done and be under the dealers by a good margin because even without an included warranty your rights as a consumer are many

It's a very cheap car at 8k , is it a dealer PX

Phil sure its a Sport GTS.....They are 25k plus and never came out on 2005....More like 2007/2008.....or is it a Sport GT......8k for a Sport GT....If you can get it for that snap their hand off........Thats a 16k to 20k car all day long depending on condition....

He didn't say Sport GTS Andy, that's the just the thread title from earlier. It's a 54 which can only be a standard 'AB4'.

My GTS was getting offers no greater than £20k before a genuine buyer came and understood the value of the thing. It got to the point, I asked people in person where they going to look at anymore and the answer was "got a few more to see". My reply was well you better go see them because this is the only 1 in Northern Ireland. Didn't even entertain a start-up.

It is a standard Duo Select in carbonio with ivory. Needs rear tyres, front suspension work, wheel refurb, detail.

44k miles, service history until 2010 then car was stored. In for health check now and waiting inspection report. As said, what do you bid for that?

I'd be interested in that for £8k! If no nasties spring up could be great deal - let me know if your not interested!

Surprisingly I've just had an offer for the car despite the fact I took it off the market. At £16,000 it seems a bit light and I'm enjoying it too much to let it go. What do you guys think?

To be fair, I think 16k is low however given the mileage, year and model, I would'nt be looking for 17k+. The ZF boxes are starting to bottom as low as 21k privately.

As a recent owner, I regret selling mine for low and imo keep it if it seems too low.

16k for the miles and age seems fair as a private sale really but it's up to you really. Why not enjoy it some more?

Maybe your first offer is you best offer.....16k.....hmmm.....if you want 17k then it aint a million miles away and as you have found with a Maserati...Not many buyers out there and they do take time to sell....but as above if you are enjoying keep. but then if you decide to sell in a year then you may not get 16k...Hard decision this one.

December, high miles car, offer pretty close to asking price. Seems fine to me if you really want to sell it.
