Hi All,

Just got the QP back from it's annual service and have been advised that I need new pads, disks and hand brake shoes, how much do you think I need to budget and if I bought everything is it something my local mechanic could fit easily or is it something of a Dark Maserati art?

There are pattern parts for the discs via eurospares which have a decent reviews from forum members.

ES discs are fine (at least in my experience). Pads can be had varying prices. I'm running the FD Carbon / Kevlar ones and they are super My understanding is that to change the handbrake shoes, an SD3 or similar is required for correct set up.

Thanks Peter and C,

Just what I wasn't hoping for as it looks relatively easy to set fit them, but you mentioned the SD3 which doubles the price probably.

Looking at Eurospares this would appear to be everything I need: -

Part No. 228411 Maserati
REAR BRAKE DISC (PRICED PER DISC)
Condition: Pattern
For: Maserati QTP. (2006) 4.2
£238 Pair

Part No. 980139064 Maserati
KIT OF REAR PADS
Condition: Pattern
For: Maserati QTP. (2010) 4.2
£89/Set (I am hoping that is 4)

Part No. 248418 Maserati
HAND BRAKE SHOE
Condition: Pattern
For: Maserati 4200 Coupe
£69/Set of 4 shoes

Is there anything I am missing there and does this look right for a 2010 QP 4.2?

Only reason I ask is that I mentioned to the garage to go ES and at least I know the max that they can charge me if that is correct?

You're only doing the rear I see? I was assuming all round.

That looks complete. GO to a decent indy they should let you source your own, I'd expect.

Thanks C,

The Super Car Rooms gave me a free service after the mishaps from the Variator repairs, so I asked them to quote ES, but just wanted to make sure that they will be quoting me like for like?

Fitting can't be more than a couple of hours I wouldn't have thought.

I bet a main dealer would charge in excess of £2K?

I can check what my Indy charged for pads and discs all round if you like, but the total for that, plus MOT plus a couple of prods was <£600 plus parts (which I already got)

Thanks C, if they even think about charging £600 labour plus parts then they can think again :)

Had mine done lately at MD - i supplied EBC pads as i did not want brake squeal. Dealer has to set the EPB as it is electronic
