Morning all,

On the drive home last night having bought Wheelybin's QPV GTS, I literally could not stop grinning and laughing to myself... it's utterly bonkers how something with 4 wheels and an internal combustion engine can make you feel so completely entranced by the aural theatre and spectacle of selecting sports mode and hearing the exhaust howl away. I truly felt like a child in a sweet shop and slightly guilty that I was enjoying the proceedings that much...

I am the proud owner of a 2010, QPV GTS in Grigio Nuvolari - for me, the ultimate automotive expression of family practicality and excitement. For me it's a dream car, and myself and the family are in love with her already.

Special thanks to Wheelybin for being so accommodating, and now I have a genuine reason to be showing my face on here far more regularly now. Here's to a long and prosperous journey with my first Mazzer...

Haha. Well done. It’s a great car and will be sorely missed. Sorry the fuel cap didn’t work - true to its character to spring that upon you just as you left!

I was the same driving mine home when I picked it 5 weeks or so ago. Amazing car for the money. I can’t believe they are so cheap now to be honest.

To be fair to the fuel cap, it will have been subject to a considerable amount of opening and closing over 70k miles.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.

I have an '02 XK8 in need of a new home, in case anyone is wondering ;)

Great buy. Well done.

I had the same fuel cap issue on my QP GTS. I used to have to press the button on the dashboard while someone else (usually a random stranger on the garage forecourt) opened the flap. That worked okay until I could have Emblem fix it.

Think that was one of the best looking QP GTS I've seen on the market. Just looked stunning. Well done on your purchase.

Thanks Ewan, do you recall what the fix was? The button/switch on the dash doesn’t seem to make a clicking or actuating noise, and the red cord within the boot works perfectly... so I suspect it’s the switch that needs replacing? EDIT: I should go and check the fuse first...

A common issues is the switch unit on a 4200/GS in the glovebox but not sure about the QP.

Great news Dan ..well done. Funny....was just thinking about you today and how you were getting on.

Lovely looking thing that QP. If the timings had fell better I would certainly have been interested in it.

Just even walking up to or away from these cars is such a moment. You don't they that with too many cars these days. For me the cold start up of my QP was always a fantastic moment.

Glad you bought this one over any others we had spoken about. Although the mileage might be a smidge higher the price compensates this and the colour combo is cracking. We need to do a Grigio Nuvolari group pic at a meet someday.
