Yep. Good value. Though you'd need to budget for respraying the sills, rear doors and rear arches to get rid of the road-rash that is evident on black QP's.

By the way, on a related topic, I'm looking to sell my GTS as I have a new car lined up for January. So if anyone fancies a fantastic example of the best looking QP ever, in the best colour, please do PM me. And for pictures, go back to the beginning of this thread!

This is a GT S Spec, although my interior writing on the carbon n/s said only Quattroporte, so not sure whether it's a really spec'd out GT.

If you zoom in you can just make out the sport GT badges on pillars and above glove box.

This back car is a Sport, not a GTS. Looks lovely though and is the next best variant after the GTS. I see this black one as more desirable than the standard grey car in the other link, and better value for money.

I haven't done the lottery in 20 years but I might give it a go until the inevitable sold appears, unless it's the same price as Ewan's last QP then i'm on it if I sell the 4200 at a giveaway price :D

Congratulations - you've "won" by not losing, the price of two clutch replacements, assuming £5/week not spent!

And what a shame you didn't buy that from me, it was an exceptional car which is still going strong with no issues over a year later.

Didn't have the money at the time , nobody was more disappointed than me

when I look at the luck geoff capes (mark) has had with his 4200 I do appreciate all my issues have been minor but I do regret not buying a QP

At the end of the day, no one wants to shell out a few grand here and there to fix their car.
However, when it is working it's worth every penny. And I don't regret buying it for one second.

All it does is make a dent in my GT fund, and stop me buying a low mileage Alfa 155 V6.

Me too they are such good cars I'm on my second which everyone knows was a Project car and could have been broken up if I hadn't bought it.
She know enjoys epic road trips down here in NZ :)

On reflection regret is a bit strong I've enjoyed every minute I've driven the 4200 , at the time it was looking like my only way into maserati ownership was a 4200 so I went for

The problem is every time I see a really nice QP I want it, med blue would always be my first choice of colour

From a 4200 to a QP is a natural progression. Going directly to a QP GTS would merely be making the most of said progress.

3 months ago it might have been a possibility but now I have a 220 B class and a wife with a smile so there's no chance

I was very interested in the qp gts that was up for sale before I bought the merc but the 6k they offered for the 4200 was laughable so I went for the happy wife = happy life option
