QP Air bag light on?

Hi Sydney,
Just picked up on your post.
The car is fine, no return of the dreaded light. It took ages to find the solution and was more by a process of elimination. I bought a replacement seatbelt, paid for diagnostics, took most of the boot and rear seats out, removed the centre console and handbrake cover. In the end, had I known, all I needed to do was remove the footwell cover on the drivers side and with a little careful movement of wire, unplug the connections to the ECU and refit.
Obviously, this solved my problem and may not fix yours, but is worth a go, before dismantling loads of things.
Good luck.

Thanks. I really appreciate the update. I'll make this my starting point. It's an intermitant light for me and I'm willing to try a few things before getting a diagnostic.

Thanks also for the update and so glad for you that you finally got it sorted!

Can I ask what the actual problem was with the connections to the ECU? Is that the connectors were on loose? Or does dis-connecting and re-connecting have some kind of re-booting/re-setting effect?

Thanks.

It just seemed to sort the problem. Maybe there was some damp in the connectors and by removing and cleaning with contact cleaner, it resolved the issue. It is just frustrating I didn't do this first and save me both time and money.

Had this problem on mine, after removing the central console to change a bluetooth module. I assumed I'd disturbed something, so called at Shiltech on my way back home today for them to plug the SD3 in and reset the fault. They couldn't... Hard fault on 'Rear seat belt pre-tensioner'. So, I stripped it back down at home, and discovered the green plug with the yellow paint needed some TLC. It's behind the passenger side tunnel cover on mine - that's all that's needed to access it, just remove the single screw at the rear of the panel.

Fired it up, all the dashboard lights cycle correctly, and no air-bag system fault. Result! No need for a trip out to have it reset either, which is a big win for me.

That's what I thought - I was expecting to have to find loose wires without knowing for sure if they were loose, and then not know if I'd fixed it without using the SD3. Bit tricky really... Still, perhaps the attempted reset by Kyle put it in a good mood? :D
