Mintco are an independent inspection company who are very thorough and will plug into the car and get that reading.

I had 60% life in my clutch and still needed changing as it was missing gears. As everyone knows that’s not covered under warranty.

I like the red colour scheme, it comes across more sporty to me. But as you mentioned it’s all down to personal preference. The seller has pictures of the car before and being wrapped which is comforting.

If your friend likes the colour combo and is leaving it wrapped then if it passes inspection, bargain.

It's matter of personal taste. It doesn't float my boat, but I've seen worse in Central London. If the wrap's a worry then find out who wrapped it - some places seem to have a better reputation than others. I personally wouldn't buy a wrapped car, and I'd err more towards a 'forum favourite' dealer such as Dicky or Nuvola.

Outstanding finance - perhaps a bargain to be had. I’ve never looked at it from this point of view. But I know too little and don’t have the cash reserves to take the punt.

I do think wraps slightly suck, what is it hiding beneath? And I’ve seen some shockers, on lovely vehicles.

Got the cash to have a PPI done, or the mechanical knowledge then go for it. Personally I’d go with a reputable dealer, and a good short warranty.

My biggest worry would be that the current owner can not afford the wrapped car. So almost certainly has concentrated (each to his own) on the looks and not the upkeep.

Could I buy this outright? Yes. Would I? Not a chance.

As others have said, still for sale after all this time.

could be a good time to low ball the owner, who knows, might end up with a bar gin, think the interior colour scheme is spot on, MOT history is all good, wouldn't dismiss it and worth a gander if you're in the market for one of these motors

Or even a gin bar, with an interior like that!

Only joking, each to their own, an inspection should tell you all you need to know though.

Its an MC-Shift which is rare for the facelift with low miles, so you would buy it just for that. Also the body in black under the wrap looks good condition from the pics. This is that typical black mirrors, black roof, black side skirts contrast style with white which is why it was wrapped pearl white probably https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201910293824447?radius=1500&model=GRANTURISMO&year-from=2012&sort=price-asc&make=MASERATI&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=ha27ql&page=1

Thanks all for the feedback.

MintCo inspected today and my friend won’t be purchasing. It has accident damage - likely a shunt. It also has over 50% clutch wear.

Never heard of these mintco fellows, where are they based

I’ve used them four times. I’ve also had friends who have used them a lot, over 10 times in aggregate. They’re very good and professional and inspect high performance / super cars. Very detailed (6 page) report.

Based in west London but does travel (at cost) however very reasonable prices I find. I had an inspection in Newcastle and ended up purchasing that actual vehicle.

I thought I’d heard all the gods county slurs from folk who seem to base their geographical knowledge on a low rent TV show but “Chelmsford spec” is a new one on me..

The good news is that round here, there is a slur for pretty much every place, so I wouldn’t take it personally :D

Guys i can confirm whilst i was working at Maserati i carried out tons of work on this car.
front suspension bushes, cam cover gaskets and a new clutch, Il never forget the reg, it was satin black wrapped back then.
Unfortunately the owner smashed this car up a few weeks after, and as far as i know, bought another.
V8 hunter messaged back after viewing and confirmed its had previous body damage etc so im guessing its the same vehicle which has been crash repaired. Just something to keep an eye out for if other members are interested in this.
