Have had the car sitting for 2 years plus, was starting OK then it wouldn't start. So back into it now with a mechanical mate. Appreciate any pointers, suggestions & tips. Haven't been on here for ages & noticed Davy's site maserati3200.net, which led me to buy an OBD2 tool, that will work better than the one I have. Anyhow, this is roughly my situation:
No DTC's airbag light on [only have basic scan tool]
Known 12.5V @ battery while cranking
No spark [did remove plenum to replace knock sensors, fault cleared....did I disturb something?]
Any info re: coil pack testing appreciated
With one fuel pump jumped at the battery, have fuel @ the rails, flow & pressure questionable. Other fuel pump seems dead, can anyone confirm one pump on normal load, second kicks in at high speeds? The working pump [on left viewed from boot]when not jumped, will only operate for a couple of seconds then shut down, relays operate, fuses are good.

Does the yellow key light on the dash go off when cranking? if not, it points to immobiliser not turning off.

Otherwise it sounds to me like the ECU could be registering a DTC and cutting spark and fuel (after the pump primes itself). Hopefully your new code reader will show something. Either way, sounds like its worth ordering a couple of bosch fuel pumps - they both operate togther at the same time - no fancy pump controls there!

Thanks for the reply, it just so happens that I have kept 2 fuel pumps that were changed out by the dealers years ago as they were bad. Run them in water for over an hour, good pressure & flow, so they will go in so I can check the ones currently in use. The no fancy controls part makes things easier.
