This thread is so depressing for the future of humanity.

Humans have been battling a series of dangerous diseases for centuries, first relying on prayer and voodoo, and later benefiting from incredible scientific advances, that comprehensively beat nasty pathogens like polio and smallpox. Along comes another nasty pathogen that quite clearly causes severe and sometimes lethal respiratory and circulatory problems for some people. It looks like it might be quite similar to the 1918 pandemic, which we know killed about 15-150 million people. The scientific data showing the dangers is clear, backed up by credible TV pictures of bodies piling up outside Chinese and Italian mortuaries.

Public health authorities try to limit its spread, just as they did in 1918 and with local polio outbreaks in the 1950s. Meanwhile reputable research scientists deploy their 200 years’ worth of vaccine expertise to come up with a variety of excellent vaccines, using methods developed over the past 20 years and benefiting from unlimited short-term funding. They also are able to rapidly carry out a testing programme involving hundreds of thousands of people, as everyone is incentivised to get the testing rolled out. While there is clear evidence of a significant peak in the overall death rate, which is clearly attributable to the pandemic (although there are also other factors), there is good evidence that the public health measures and the vaccine have saved humans from a worse outcome.

Meanwhile someone knows a bloke who died only one day before his 3rd vaccine, and somebody else's granny tested positive and didn't die. And someone thought he had heard that the guy who invented mRNA, Robert O Young, (actually they are probably thinking of Robert Malone) had looked at the vaccine under a microscope and found something or other. Several people, who know nothing at all about vaccine development, feel that it was a bit rushed. Someone else watched a YouTube video in which a real doctor said he didn’t trust the government. And then somebody read a medical report that was so thorough that it had a very long list of things that anxious people had reported as possibly associated with the vaccine, such as “Acute Hemorrhagic Edema of Infancy”, which is actually a very rare and almost entirely benign skin condition, only affecting infants (who have not had Covid vaccines) with spontaneous recovery occurring within 1-3 weeks. And someone else took some hydroxychloroquine and is still alive, so they are really glad they didn’t get the vaccine, as that has chemicals in it.

And loads of people are sure that the government, which they also know can barely keep the lights on, or fix potholes, or cover up a bribery scandal, is engaged in a vast conspiracy to control us all.

We are doomed

And Bill Gates and Klaus Schwab and the other various globalist entities are the good guys right .............arent they the very people who are trying to steer our governments , I dont doubt for one minute there are those whose integrity and dedication to preserve humanity are well intentioned but it feels increasingly that there are those that have pure financial gain at the root of there cause , Im no rocket scientist or epidemiologist just an ordinary bloke who has seen the result of pure incompetence ,,,,,,,,,,,,,i see no good reason why its wrong to call a spade a spade .....this whole episode saga has looked like a duck, walked like a duck and quacked like a duck .....therefore in my book its an efffffing duck

We are doomed

I don't think the government all got together and came up with a grand plan of "how do we control them muhahaha"

I think it's more of an opportunist thing where it naturally evolves that way.

A bit like how in the 1940s the government weren't saying "how do we get more women in to the workplace", it naturally happened because the women took over while the men were at war, then when they got back it continued that way.

Do you remember when there was a stand off between the FBI and Apple because Apple refused to give them access to a phone? Their reason being that although the cause this time is for good reason, but "a key left under the mat isn't just used by the good guys".

So now, we've naturally opened an avenue where it's ok for something to be labelled misinformation and therefore removed from social media.

To continue my example close to home, what if the government wanted to charge all V8 and V12 cars a hugely increased tax because they are the biggest polluters of all cars, use the most fuel and generate noise complaints. The mainstream media then put out lots of videos of chavs revving their V8s, C63s crashing in to crowds etc etc.
Suddenly you've got public hostility towards your Maserati, you're scared to park it anywhere because you're now the absolute devil of society for driving such a car which is so damaging to both our environment and health, why can't you just drive a hybrid or EV like the rest of us you selfish twonk!!

Even the car companies are happy to go along with this now as they no longer sell V8s and want you to buy a new car as it makes them more money.

So V8 drivers decide to take a stand, we don't deserve to be treated like this and we're not all chavs and you know what, building an EV or a new car is hugely worse for the environment than buying a used V8. Then these people who go on 3 package holidays a year on Ryanair have a massively bigger carbon footprint than us V8 users.

Then we start to guide people's attention to freight shipping and government private jets etc etc
All of a sudden, there's a bit of heat going the government and big companies way, they don't like it, but they've got an avenue they can use, they contact big social media companies and they inform them of a study about V8 V12 cars and tell them there's misinformation going around about using private jets, shipping and major airlines polluting, please watch out for it.

So every post that is made to defend your Maserati is deleted because of misinformation, the mainstream media is against you, the people are against you, and you can't win, you have to pay this huge new tax.

Thankfully we have court hearings like this so we may be getting somewhere:

Fwiw I don't want to debate the accuracy of my statements about pollution and EVs etc etc as I made them up, just for the sake of argument pretend my statements are 100% accurate as it is the dangers of censorship that I want to highlight.

I'm happy to still be here. First jag wiped me out, pulse 144, rashes, lack of breath, wee niggly pains, then next two nothing. Cought COVID twice, sore throat and lack of smell that was it, don't know what it would be like if I hadn't had the vaccinations, frankly don't really care as it's in the past. I'll just get on with every day as it comes and hopefully have many more.

All I know is that thank fully I personally don't know anyone who died from a Covid related infection, although I do know some one who was extremely sick and spent a lot of time in hospital, but I do know that I am now allowed to WFH the majority of time which reduces my travelling, my commuting expenses etc.

I don't feel anymore stupid than I did before all this started

Reason I brought this up is basically because im miffed in so many ways ............... largely because ive just had to shell out in excess of five figures for knee implant for my good lady . and whilst i dont for one minute begrudge her the private op ............its annoying the waiting list we were quoted was 18 months-2 years ...........being in the elderly bracket now 2 years is a rather large chunk of what time we may have left , so it was a no brainer ...........so my mind has been searching for someone/something to blame for the state we are in ......after all I was brought up in a system that gave me no choice to pay my dues to the tax and National insurance system so as a good citizen i have paid my dues for 40 odd years and so has my working wife , the time when we need it, the system has failed us ..............probably like so many others out there ....im sure im not alone in this and most likely there are more serious tales of woes other could quote .
Pre covid we know things werent brilliant due to successive governments but waiting lists were kind of manageable , but now its intolerable due to the likes of the Matt Hancocks of this world and rightly so they deserve a few hundred Maseratisti venting at them ............its helping my frustration  and rather therapeutic

I feel stupid for reading this thread - just the same old twaddle being repeated as the last COVID/BREXIT/Immigration/Oil types threads as the last time that finally descended into madness.

Can we stick to car stuff, and have these 'debates' on Mums Net or similar forums where you can meet like minded people who have lost of fee time to reinforce their own opinions?

This thread is so depressing for the future of humanity……Along comes another nasty pathogen that quite clearly causes severe and sometimes lethal respiratory and circulatory problems for some people.

Au contraire, I think a lot of people are now aware of the total BS we were fed. This virus was survivable for 99% of people yet everyone was treated as if they were the same risk.

That blanket policy was utter rubbish.

It will be depressing if they ever manage to pull off what they did the first time again.I think a lot are now sceptical.

The sheer audacity of “fear”, forced vaccines, lockdowns, persecution of unvaxxed, intimidation of parents to vax kids, shuttering of small businesses etc etc etc and let’s not forget it was almost certainly man made with US involvement is scandalous!

These jabs were EUA ( other remedies were banned even tho Dr’s and others claimed success) and were untested with no long term consequences known. Two jabs has turned into endless ineffective ones….and there is lots of evidence that the more you get the more you are likely to fall ill.

Pfizer even admitted recently they never investigated whether it stopped transmission!!!!

So Much for Protect yourself and others…..oh breakthrough cases are rare. My **** they were/are.

Wtf. Misinformation?
I’d suggest just about everything you were told by govts and their medical/media shills about the virus, the risk to most people, the vaccines, their safety, their efficacy, the masking, the social distancing, was inaccurate and in most cases arbitrarily made up without any scientific backing.

I mean imagine a disease so deadly u need to wear a mask all day but you can sit down in a restaurant for hours without one.

No Mark, many counties around the world now have massive excess “unexplained” deaths……and people are questioning the narrative.

Rightly so and that provides a glimmer of hope for humanity

.....

Simply not true. The UK and US governments had active campaigns to get women to work in factories during WWII. In the UK, it was compulsory wo women to register for war work from 1941.

This is the problem with 'misinformation', some of it is just unimportant stuff that somebody imagines to be true, or made up to make a point. But some of it is actively dangerous.

But this is the point. If people peddle twaddle and are just ignored, then in the modern world of social media the twaddle gains credibility.

It used to be that the village idiot could say what he liked because (a) only his neighbours heard him, and (b) everyone in the village knew he was an idiot. Now he has global reach, supported by all the other idiots and the algorithms. So it is not acceptable to just click away. This nonsense has to be countered or we end up at Idiocracy.

If anyone would like copies of the scientific documents I mentioned just PM me. Argue the toss with the authors, don't take my word.
PS I share these thoughts out of genuine concern for others.

You can apply that same logic Mark to the government so called scientific rhetoric spouted out in times of the covid outbreak ..............thats exactly why its necessary to hear both sides of the story ............present and post pandemic in order to equate and evaluate

Not a court hearing, but US congressional political posturing and argument by anecdote.
Actually it’s very serious- for us all as if this is allowed to continue there will be even less trust in anything we are ever told again.

I believe the action breaches American free speech laws too.

The Twitter files reveal that they clearly (under influence from FBI/govt) consistently removed or banned any posts which did not follow the political narrative on subjects such as

covid
Biden laptop
Trump

They deleted and banned information from drs/scientists/ computer repair men/ business associated etc etc that is now clearly seen to be true and accurate whilst labeling it as misinformation at the time.

There is nothing anecdotal about it other than your anecdotal comment.

Anecdotal -information is not based on facts or careful study: anecdotal evidence. Gossip and rumour.
