I saw that … Not sure why you would spend 18k on this over a QP 5 which looks better, is more reliable (in Maserati terms that is) and is a better drivers car. But hey we are all different.

They are very different cars, only thing they share is the name really. QPIV is much lighter than the V. I wouldn't go so far to call it less reliable. The IV in manual guise is certainly less complicated than the V with the DS. Both now kick best part of 2 decades.

I like it but as expected would need some ownership loving and expense to get it really nice. However, I still think the Ghibli of the era has it on looks and desirability, so Richard Grace’s GT which is immaculate, looks a bargain next to this. Yes they are different cars, plus LHD / Auto etc, but even so….

While interiors were very plush back then that wood looks horrid with blue leather. Just doesn’t go for me.

As you say, we’re all different. Personally, I don’t think the QP V looks better or is more reliable. I put them on a par and like them both equally, having had 4 of each. But in the current collection, I only have the QP IV.
As for the car in the ad, the silver and blue combination looks fabulous, and I’d say the price is about right for an incredibly rare piece of usable Italian exotica.
I’d retro fit the oval gold clock though, as I did to me last Evo.
