yes, they re-drill the hole and put the metal insert, so its stronger than the original one. Because the wheel bolt sitting in the metal insert not the alloy.

Alvin

Thanks Alvin. Not so big a job then really, doing a search I know a company in the UK that does this.
So, who fancies a set of these lovelies on their 42/GS?
I fear for our roads a little on the large side, being 20", but if you dare, the correct sized tyres are available for the correct rolling radius!
Alternatively of course the QP also has a choice of 18" and 19" wheels, Alvin's being one of the 19's

Given the price and scarcity of GS wheels there may be a market as I hear they are easy to damage.

Nice boomerangs on the GS! Can they now fit the bonnet vents and forced induction for the finished classic and purist article?

The GS wheels are so distinctive and really make the car for me, but I really like those QP wheels for a different look.
I'd love to see a GS on a set of original Stradale wheels. Anyone fancy Photoshopping a picture?

Stradale wheels are GT wheels not QP wheels so the rear wheels have a much more aggressive offset compared to the QP, so unless they can be shaved to reduce the offset at the same time as changing the PCD, no go I fear.

Didn't know that, Mike. Being 20" I reckon the ride would be awful anyway with reduced profile tyres. Would still like to see what it looks like though.

The QP has wheel off sets of 52 front (8.5 wide) and 50.5 rear (10.5 wide).
The GT has wheel off sets of 52 front (8.5 wide) and 37.5 rear (10.5 wide).

GS wheels for comparison are 55 front (8.0 wide) and 52 rear (9.5 wide)

So you can see if QP wheels are fitted with the PCD changed, the front wheels would stick out approx 10mm more, and the rear approx 15mm more, this being the difference in the off set plus half the increase in rim width. So, in this case, no difference to fitting a set of spacers to the standard GS wheels.
The rear GT wheel however, this would stick out over 27mm more, maybe too much, but they could possibly be skimmed by 5mm, so maybe possible...

If it's as good in the flesh as the pics, there's not many left in that sort of nick.

Hi Mike

Originally I want to put 20" wheel (Birdcage) from Granturismo, but ART told me that i'll lose my riding quality. It won't feel good because the rolling diameter completely wrong. That's why they suggested me to use 19".
At the moment they have one more stock wheel for our cars, if I'm not wrong is C63 AMG wheels 19". So it's going to look like a Ferrari 360 which is 5 stars spoke wheel.

Hi MAF260

Mike is right, we cant use Stradale wheels on our cars, it will stick too far out. So no go for stradale wheel

You have great taste

A GS with boomerangs....how much does that cost?

Thanks

I can't remember how much does it cost me, I did it last year. As far as I remember it wasn't cheap. It's a very good finish.
Let me dig up my receipt and ill let you know

Thought I would have learnt my lesson after my last 3200.. but I can't help it they're such good looking cars despite all their "issues"!. This one I got for not much above scrap value and have spent the past few days showering it with TLC to get it back in to a state it deserves. Dem's grill is now sitting proudly on the front!
