Audi built the SWB using the rear of a Quattro Coupe and the front body of the 80 saloon which is what gives the more upright windscreen.

i thought they just copied the the windscreen rake as noted below extract

"The car in competition form also featured a body shell composed of carbon-kevlar[4] and wider wheel arches, wider wheels (nine inches as compared to the Ur-Quattro's optional 8-inch-wide (200 mm) wheels), the steeper windscreen rake of the Audi 80 (requested by the Audi Sport rally team drivers to reduce internal reflections from the dashboard for improved visibility) and, most noticeably, a 320 mm (12.6 in) shorter wheelbase."

No they actually used the whole 80 front end. It’s not like they cut up a real car. It was the factory after all so they used modified 80 and coupe pressings. The coupe is based on the 80 floor pan and drive train to start with. I think both the 90 and 100 shared body pressings with the 80 too.

“In terms of bodywork, Audi was able to proceed on the basis of a large number of its models in the so-called modular system. The Sport quattro is based on the two-door Audi 80 sedan up to the B-pillar and the Audi quattro from the B-pillar upwards. The Sport quattro is 320 mm shorter than the Audi quattro. The side doors are all from the Audi 80, while the tailgate is made of glass-fiber reinforced polyester resin, as was used for the front spoiler of the Audi quattro. Fenders, rear side panels, roof, hood, front and rear apron were manufactured and delivered by Seger and Hoffmann in Switzerland. These parts are made of multi-layer aramid fabric, epoxy resin and various additives. The production and processing of this dimensionally stable yet lightweight material also accounted for a large part of the total cost of the Audi Sport quattro.”
