I saw the video of that, it just seemed to sledge, once on the grass it was never going to be a good outcome. A braver driver might have come off the brakes, sacrificed the race position but salvaged the day. Sad to see such a beautiful car totalled like that.

They did announce that 'some' of the cars racing where in fact replicas - as the owners felt that the original car was just too valuable to risk having a shunt.
They didn't say which ones, I suppose as this is racing for sport and kudos rather than vast sums of cash that is understandable especially after last years expensive thump.
