Parking sensors

Only an XPipe so not loud, not thought about the insulation will check this later tks. I’ll be at the Ace later so will ask someone else to listen in case it’s my hearing.

On my Grigio Nuvolari GS I thought the parking sensors had failed but it was in fact the speaker that had failed so maybe worth checking the speaker is operating correctly. A much easier fix than replacing the sensors if that is the problem.

Thanks, on my way home now so will have time to investigate this before setting off later.

Ok so laughing, at the Ace this evening we investigated this further. There are no holes for the sensors in the rear bumper so it looks like the bumper was replaced a while back and they did not cut out the holes for the sensors. We are sure all GSs came with them so this explains my problem. I’m going to check with a dealer the original spec of the car.

Sensors were an option even on the GS. You will have the in 'R' bleep not to be confused with the parking aid.

Ah, that’s clears everything up. We were having a discussion and thought it was standard issue so that makes sense & thank you for being so knowledgable.

Is it possible to fit the bmw/alfa sensors to a 4200/GS that did not have the factory option?

Mine has an aftermarket cobra branded system but it is disconnected. I might reconnect to find out what happens i.e. for sh!ts and giggles... what I'd rather do is remove the aftermarket sensers, repair and respray the bumper and fit a miniature android Reversing camera

Depends on the size of holes.

The wires are there for the factory units control box, it should be plug and play.

As to you aftermarket set up...it could be wired to the original loom, or just spliced into the reverse lights..
