parking brake failure light

hi
did not notice that the trickle charger was not plugged in (what an eejit) so battery was flat and when i turned key she lit up like a christmas tree as expected. Charged battery overnight and she started no problem this morning but the parking failure light/return to dealer is on.
any ideas how to get it off?

It is upset because it doesn’t know the position of the parking brake. Ignition off, lock it, open it and then restart. It should clear. If not hold the parking brake switch for 5 seconds.

with having a trouble free summer with this car, i had forgot just how easily upset these cars are!
think i'll invest in a new battery anyway, it was only unplugged from trickle for less than 2 weeks so guessing battery not anywhere near 100%

Check you don't have an old tracker installed. When the internal battery goes on those then apparently it starts leaching from the car battery and kills the card quickly.
