Driving down from Kent to the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff to meet my dad and see Wales take on the mighty Italians in a .

This was back before we had Bluetooth and you had to do with CDs on endless repeat for your roadtrips.

Ryan Paris' Dolce Vita was one of several tracks that are forever to be remembered from that day as the soundtrack to the prelude to an immense night.

Before the game, Manic Street Preachers did a short set. You can see the stadium is already pretty full a good half hour before the game.

It was a game where everyone wanted tickets.

We took an early lead and by half-time we were still level at 1-1. The disbelief that Wales were even still in the game. Then the PA came on and before the second half started the crowd erupted into a rendition of Joe Dolce's Shaddap You Face. The 2,000 or so travelling Italian fans must have been wondering what was going on.

And then in the 70th minute Bellamy, who I never regarded as a particularly great striker, was played through and rounded Buffon, probably the greatest ever keeper.

Somehow, unbelievably, Wales had beaten Italy at football.

On the tip of my tongue! Thought it was Buggle or something at first but was it Captain Sensible?
