One could buy a very nice real Maserati for this much!

Probably a Biposto. Bit like a two seater Strad. Take a perfectly usable four seat car, soup it up and then make it sh!t by removing the rear seats.
Like mine lol. It's actually a lot better like that, you can fit in useful things in space of annoying people! ;)

I think it looks really cool - love the wheels, the seats and the tricolore. Yes it’s expensive, but it’s fun and that‘s what Italian cars are all about. And it’s certainly rare - I’d love to have one!

I don’t understand the directed snide comments, however - very unfortunate ...

Ah yes, that's the limited edition.....Abarth 'they saw him coming' 695 edition.

50k is just silly money.......695 is a great fun car but not at that money.
he’d already got an abarth , punto I think , i think they were thinking it’d increase in value due to rarity

it was a biposto

If that’s directed at me, nothing snide about my opinion on 2 seat Strads and not directed at anyone either. Cars are very personal and my opinion is that the whole motorsport derived thing is really bad. It doesn’t work for road cars and filters down so that even a 316i is ridiculously uncomfortable.

I sold my M3 after 6 months coz I thought it was sh!t, yep might lap the Nurbergring in under 8 secs but it’s nasty on a round trip to Ludlow. I own two race cars and they’re both sh!t.

Ewan’s Strad is the sort of thing I’d dribble over then convince myself it’s what I wanted coz the motoring press says I should and once bought really regret it. It’s taken me a few sh!t cars in a row to realise that. Basically I’ve got old and grumpy and want an automatic GC to waft down to the south of France whilst hogging the outside lane.

I do sort of agree with you there , I really liked the mustang for a lot of reasons but it was quite a hard ride , they're definitely built to a price , it can all be sorted with aftermarket parts though

However, since I bought the very cheap E280 it's made me realise I don't really like sporty cars unless they're sporty , as in go where you point them with total confidence and they don't try and kill you if you put your foot down

This E280 is the best £3000 I've ever spent on a car

If I lost the use of the LH side of my body I could still drive it , only indicating would be a problem but as it's German thats optional anyway.

Absolutely NOT directed at you, and I’m so sorry that you thought it was ...

And to be clear, I’m not looking for confrontation with anybody - just think it’s sad to see personal attacks when we are all here to celebrate our passion for the marque ...

I was just worried that I’d offended someone, especially if it was Ewan or Allan as they both come across as really nice guys.

Oh my God this is horrific! I’m so sorry - I’ve made the situation ten times worse which I certainly hadn’t intended. Let’s try to stick to the forum topic and be kind to each other ...

I'm sorry, there's an Abarth Fiat 500 that loves to make a racket at this time of night... typically involving stopping at the flats down the road (presumably for their fix of narcotics) before promptly driving off. I loathe it... there's not enough cylinders or engine displacement to make a viable, decent sound from it's 4 exhaust pipes. Subsequently, it sounds no better (in fact, worse) than the 4" diameter hedgehog house I fitted to my '94 Renault Clio RT. I was badass when I was 18.

Right, that's off my chest :)
