Thanks for all the info and discussion. I like the car in general. Not sure about the Vintage bits as never been a fan of all this Chrome trim stuff. Not a deal breaker though. I thought the brake calipers were supposed to be silver on the Vintage pack from what I can tell but again really a tiny insignificant thing. It is not far aware from me so might try to make a visit in the next few days to view it and have a quick test drive. Never driven a Maser yet in any model so a little apprehensive. I really want to love the brand/car and will be sad if I don't gel with it.
Loved my SL60 AMG I had and regretably sold a few years back. Got into an SL55 AMG last year and hated it. Flipped it for a £1k profit after a few weeks so not a disaster but was nothing like the better SL60 IMHO. Far too much power/torque for the chassis set up it had.
I remember many years ago doing a supercar track day and driving my first Ferrari with it not being anywhere near as good as I had envisaged or built it up to be. It was a Modena 360 and seemed to be a well worn track vehicle so likely a bad example but nevertheless wasn't what I wanted it to be.
The Boxster S is a great car but not really very special or an occasion. I have had a better feeling with a new shape Jaguar XJ than the Boxster. It has been the first car I have driven straight on past home a few times for an extended drive and I haven't done that for a few years. Th XJ is only the twin turbo diesel but is an awesome car.
I am hoping the Maser is what I want it to be
