Hi all

I recently purchased a 2008 granturismo and absolutely love it (its been a long time coming), but this week i have noticed after some moderate-to-hard breaking there is some vibration, and I suspect that it may be warped discs? Also the infotainment screen is taking longer and longer to come alive. would be great to have some feed-back if anyone else has had the same problems.

Cheers, Michael

Welcome. Think your prognosis of the brakes is likely to be correct... not sure on the screen.

Welcome along - I've a 2008 4.2 GT as well. I've not had the problem with the brakes, it does sound like the disks are a bit warped. The infotainment does take a while to wake up sometimes but it doesn't seem to be a problem. My Audi does the same.

Where abouts are you? Post some pics when you get a chance.

Welcome, Michael. My guess wouldn't be warped disks because you've got to work hard to achieve that. There are some who say it's impossible. Mine have done that vibratey thing and it's pretty unpleasant but they always come right again when they've cooled down. Someone who knows what they're talking about will doubtless be along soon to offer a more considered opinion. At the very least I'd suggest a good strip down and clean up. A good indie will see you right. Where are you based?

My info screen also sometimes takes a while to wake up, for reasons which are not remotely obvious. Disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes every so often is quite a good habit to get into. Think of it as rebooting a PC - gives it a chance to reset things. Remember not to close the boot while the battery's disconnected. Oh, and keep the battery topped up. CTEK 5 or lidl equivalent (seriously) will be your best friend.

There's a meet at The Ace cafe on the 11th Feb which will be well attended. Worth dropping along to if you fancy picking a few brains (good luck!) and letching Italian cars.

Thank all for your welcome, the car has been driven today by a local garage who is a specialist in Lamborghini and the likes. I thought it may be the front discs that were warped as they do the most work, but he seems to think rear discs as there is not much feeling through the steering wheel, but plenty through the body.

Anyway, I live in Beaconsfield and will be popping up to the Ace Cafe on the 11th, will be nice to meet some of you there.

Cheers, Michael

Sorry Michael, thread drift is always a bit of a problem on here, but welcome to the madness. I'll be coming along to the Ace as well, so I'll be able to tell you who to stay away from as there are a few unsavoury reprobates who frequent this forum. ;)
