Don't worry about it Mike, it's what we call Italian character. Less enlightened marques may call it un-reliabililty, but you will get used to it. I did!!!

the dripping is the aircon drain, its a regular problem and no big deal to fix , but its awkward search the tech section for the aircon pictoral how to fix ,there is also a how to reset the memory procedure , Not to sure what your dangling cables are , maybe worth checking the wiring diagrams

Don't think its the air con drain, the aluminium pipe was freezing cold covered in condensation and dripping off where it bends at the bottom.
Sorted one wire, gave it a pull and a trickle charger plug appeared. Don't know about the cut wire, or dangling plug under the dash.
Any guidance where one can download a wiring diagram?
Oh the sun visor vanity mirror light has started to work now!
Thanks
Mike

Was it definitely condensation? If so then lagging it won't do any harm.

Good news on the vanity light - Maserati - the car that mends itself (if only!)

Here's a link to the seat reset procedure if it helps...

My money says its almost definately the aircon drain blocked , check the passenger side fuse box under the carpet for dampness around or in the fuse box , its quite common that you get crappp buid up or the drain pipes get blocked and it overflows at the nearest available escape point, then tends to drip down both sides behind the dash , quick way that has shown results in the past is taht if you have got access to an airline , is to give it several blasts up the drain pipe to clear any blockages

Thanks I'll investigate tomorrow, if I think on I'll take a photo of the aluminium AC pipe if it condensates up again.
I did expose the fuse box while investigating the seat problem, and it was bone dry with no water stains etc, which was reassuring.
I must remember to smell for the potential anti-freeze leak as well, that I am sure I noticed on the way home when i put some heat on, after picking her up.
Must take advantage of the nice weather while we have it!
Thanks
Mike

The handbook does give you a guide for adjusting the mirror dip on reverse while you are resetting the seats it is worth doing; mie were way too low to be useful when I got it, the last owner needed to reverse into a tight garage I think. Whereas I predominately reverse off my sloped drive onto the road that is up hill; double dip egression!!!

Newton, that sounds just perfect for a long and healthy clutch life!

Came to take her out this afternoon and the battery was flat. Thought it could have been my 2 year son playing in the car earlier in the day and leaving the lights on, but with no key in the ignition the headlights don't appear to stay on anyway. Anyway after giving the battery a 10 minute boost with my 20 amp charger she fired up okay, but the drivers seat was screwed again. Did the resetting procedure on the seat. However I notice I have the 5 beeps when removing the key. I have read this is because the seat requires resetting, that I have done, but also I have read about 5 beeps to do with the navtrak tracker? I have no idea if a tracker is fitted, but then read that all 4200's had them fitted, is this correct? If so, it needs taking out if a battery drain issue. If the 5 beeps is associated with the tracker, how many components make up the tracker install? Can I phone navtrak and ask if fitted? What info will they need?
On a side issue, I'm getting to grips with the cambiocorsa gearbox now, luv it to be honest, it does a great double declutch when dropping down at speed, but I understand this is lost with the upgrade?
With the car I got a Maserati VHS video, had to dig out my player from the loft but it's a 10 minute production on how to drive the cambiocorsa gearbox, with articles on skyhook and traction control, all demonstrated by Ivan Capelli. It stated that the gearbox would automatically shift up when the engine hits the rev limiter, when in manual mode, but when I tried today it did not, only the rev limiter with no change in gear, although I only tried it once and when it did hit the limiter I changed up myself, I did not want to wait to find out for too long!
Cheers
Mike

As far as the NAVTRAC is concerned most of the points are covered in this thread:http://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/showthread.php/5119-NavTrak-Info

If the car has been hanging around for a while before you got it the NAVTRAC battery will almost cirtainly be DOA they are not deep cycle cells, it may well be worth getting a new main battery before the winter too....

I've never had an automatic upshift on limiter in manual mode but it will change down for you if you are too preoccupied avoiding things in a hurry to worry about downshifting!

Navtraks are usually sited under the rear parcel shelf , common problem once its own battery life expires , many of us have removed them and the problem disappears

From the owners Manual...

"...UP for overrunning speed rate.

The system switches to an upper gear automatically if the engine reaches a value approaching the overrunning rate and the accelerator pedal is pressed.

This condition does not occur with the system in the 'SPORT' mode..."

Re - beeping, I started getting this after replacing the battery, beeped after the alarm delay when using the remote alarm arming - about 20 secs after pressing the button. After a period of time it stopped - was advised that this was to do with the alarm and the beeps can be turned on or off. If you turn off in neutral you will get 10 or is it 11 beeps - well more like chirps really.

That explains that one...should have read the manual!

I do tend to agree with you, but actually reading the manual (!) 5 beeps appears to indicate a problem with the seats, but really, as long as they still move around its not a major problem, but annoying all the same.

Sometimes it pays to unplug the seat electrical socket underneath , spray it with switch cleaner and then replace it
