Hello all. So I did it, I bought one! I've been looking them for a while then it was the new year and my wife said. ."what can possibly go wrong" Needless to say I didn't need any more freedom and the rest is history. It's s 54 plate full service history, newish clutch tan interior and a sound roof!!!!. Not sure about sharing pictures. Will have to see if this works. I will be doing some of the work on this car myself so the questions will start soon. I will try to use the FAQ.

Thanks for the welcomes. I live near Bourne. LincsOSCA I take it you are not far away.

Contigo, yes that is the car. Do you know some history. I hope it's good!

I was going to buy it blind from a dealer in Nottingham but Ewan's came up first so I didn't in the end. I don't know much about it at all but looks like a nice motor.

Excellent, looks like there are a few members around here. Are there any local regular meets? I don't need many excuses yo drive her!!

Contigo, thanks for info. I bought down in Whitstable. First owner from new for 10 years. Full HR Owen history including clutch. Only 2k miles or so in the last year though. It is lovely although as expected on a car this age there are a few minor bits to sort out.

Congrats Donald and welcome to the forum. Between the long time members and the various indy specialist members there is a wealth of knowledge on the forum. Group buys and regular national and regional meets and events during the year. The next one being the Ace Cafe meet on the 11th February. Meet of the year in my view has to be Bruntigthorpe in the summer.

Thanks spkennyuk. Unfortunately can't do the Ace Cafe this time but it is one I would love to do one day. I've had a look at the Bruntingthorpe thread and that does look good. Can't plan that far ahead yet though.

How about a small meeting at the Castle Inn in Castle Bytham in the near future? Great landlord and cracking food.

Lads, what at Castle Bytham, is it worth a drive out with my wife for the day?

She is just about to start Chemo, so I want to keep her mind off it and a pleasant day out might be just what she needs.

I'd be up for that, but not too sure about the parking.
I went for my first "proper" drive to Derby and back via Melton at the weekend .......fantastic! Much more nimble than I expected and eats the miles.... and the fuel. Finding it very difficult not to use the top end of the revs!

There's nothing to see - it's just a village with a great pub. Stamford is close by though, and that's a nice town to visit. Sorry to hear about her upcoming chemo - what does she enjoy seeing/doing?

Parking at the pub is all onroad, but it's a very quiet road and wide at the pub. Been there with Masers before (Hodroyd & Ambient69) with no problem. Alternatively, the Cholmeley Arms in Burton Coggles has a big car park and superb food. MAF can confirm :)

Thanks Drew,

If its a boys playing with their toys day then I'll leave her at home.

Subject to the weather then would be up for an excuse to drive over, but will have to judge in between her cycles of the Chemo as last time she had it, it presented a few problems.
