New Ghibli UK perfeomance figs

Just looking though the performance figs for the UK they don't seem that quick.....OK i know 0-60 is only half the story but it does set the bench mark....The diesel 0-60 is pretty poor to be honest......The 4.2 GT S is around 5.2 so you expect the smaller Ghibli to put this to shame....

Interesting that they say on the web site that the Q4 is the quickest yet the UK is not getting this car...

Guess the Q4 will have better traction off the line. Won't the 3.8L version be the range topper with an extra 150bhp?

Just been having a read on the web site and this months EVO and no mention of anything other than a V6 3L...

Somebody on here mentioned the 3.8 version in the main Ghibli thread.

Seems Maserati might be going backwards, got an email from them yesterday saying there's a new 330bhp verion of the QP (aimed at China).

The Diesel Ghibli only has around 270 bhp....It's aimed at the BMW 535D which has been voted diesel engine of the year and has 306 bhp........

The Turbo V6 produces 327bhp and 407bhp.....

The Q4 will not be sold in UK because Maserati say it's too expensive ro produce a RHD version.

I will say the more I look at the Ghibli the more I'm beginning to warm to it.........I love the front but there is still too much Audi around the backend but it's an improvement on the latest QP.....Still feel upset about the latest design direction though.

It's an interesting car. The performance figures seem inline with what you would expect. There is obviously a boost from moving to the 8 speed box viz a viz the QP5/GranTurismo. Also the turbos should give better overtaking.

Yes BB as I mentioned 0-60 doesn't really show true performance.....The turbo's should make for very interesting performance.

Any figures on kerb weight?

As the the diesel, 0-60 is on a par with my old GTV 3.0 which is plenty fast enough to get yourself in trouble in.

The OLD gtv 3.0L .....You had to be going some to get in to trouble with one of those..I found mine to be really hard to loose....The just gripped...

My trouble I meant with the BIB.
They are pretty stable, surprised how the QP gets upset so much with white lines in comparison.

Not a lot lighter than a GranTurismo and the engine downsizing probably gives most of that. Power to weight ok on the S but a bit weedy on the standard car. Still the latter is in the lower car tax bracket.
