New Back Boxes Fitted

The lock down gave me the opportunity to use the ramp in the garage next door which is closed for business just now. Posts on here suggested it was a straightforward job that could be done in the driveway.
I've got to say that I couldn't have done it without the ramp.
Fitting new Larini boxes took about half an hour a side. Taking off the wheel arch liners and the old exhaust fixings was a different story. Not sure when they were last off. The penetrating oil applied last week made little difference and heat was required. Eventually they gave up.
The wheel arch liner fasteners were seized on, particularly the two self tappers at the bottom.
Boy are the Oem back boxes a tight fit and careful wriggling was required to get them off without scratching the diffuser. This was perfect timing as the old ones were rotten with several holes. How the Mot was passed last year, or several years probably, is a mystery but since they can't be seen, they can't fail.
All in all, it was just over 3 hours to completion.
Am I happy with the result? Oh yes. A much different tone and not too 'hooligan' sounding. Hopefully there won't be too much drone at cruising speed. Time will tell.

Nice work! If I may ask, is you car black, and if so what is the paint code? Thanks

Nice job, know where you’re coming from, when I removed the complete exhaust on my GS it took a full day and didn’t need much spannering, mostly heat and cutting discs.
The actual components where ok but all fixings heavily corroded.
Enjoy the new sound

I have Larini on my 4200. They sound lovely. Not too ‘hooligan’ as you correctly mention. I don’t find the drone to be overbearing. I’m not sure what it’s like on the 3200. Enjoy the new symphony.
