Planning on doing the 500 during Le Mans week. Is the advisable in the QP? Anyone done it in their Mas?

Hi, it's perfectly ok - although there is about an hour either side of Durness that will drive you crazy - its single lane with passing places and a month ago was full of campervans that don't respect the 'stop and wait'

If you take some side roads or other routes be aware they can be narrow and quite bumpy

I'm going to give it a miss at the moment, although done most in parts, lots of complaints from locals about mess and antisocial behavior, not that that would be us, but just too many on it now I think. Enjoy, but be aware most places want pre booking, no longer just turn up and get a room.

All hotels booked and not doing the full circle. Stopping on the way up too so these are our stopovers:
Dryburgh Abbey hotel
Muthu Newton hotel, Nairn
Forrs house hotel, Thurso
Dunndonnel Hotel
Cruachan Hotel, Fort William
Mar Hall resort, Bishopton
4 cars and we are all potty trained.

I am not that organised!! Suggestions?

I once flew Mrs C and myself for dinner there. We visited when we toured Scotland the first year of our marriage. Then, in 2013 the company I was working for owed me a significant favour, and that's what we did. Worth every instant.

Ah. I thought you was going to say that. I was violently ill at 2.30am after having the fish platter when I was up there for a week.

To be fair it was 2004! I don't hold a grudge. :D
