Naff Number plates

So, the Mrs got me a number plate for Xmas so how can I tell her I don't like it much? I think a private plate is a personal thing, so she could have asked for advice on this. This would be like me getting her some underwear and not checking her size first. The result? Something that doesn't fit. My new number is plate M44 SBH. Now if that was 42 for engine, the M was for maserati and the last 3 letters my initials I could understand it. However, the 44 is for my age. Hmm, I'm only 44 for a year.
Oh, my initials are common on a lot of cars so I would never had gone there.

Hi Steve, just go with flow.......plates are a bit of fun. I've got the following on my cars.
X2 PTM (S Type Jag)
PTM 478 (Lancia Delta Integrale)
MA53RTE (Maserati 4200 Spyder)
D4 FER (Ferrari 360 Modena)
As and when people make me the right offer they will go.

Anyway buying the Mrs the incorrect size underwear could also be fun and you never know, she may also go with flow.......
Fun for everyone!!!!

I could put on car for a bit. Then look for a new one and put this one on my van. Sounds like a plan.

Don't normally bother with private plates although we do have two

SZ9136 was on the SZ when it came not too bad for a 91 SZ with a 3.0 V6 ;)
W8 JHK is on the Range Rover, it was on my Passat W8 and the letters are the kids initials Jamie, Hannah & Kirsty

I am tempted to get W7 and W6 JHK just so the kids can have one each in the future. I would put one of them on the Spyder and the other on the daily runabout 147 (cheaper than having them on retention). I quite like the idea of 3 cars with consecutive numbers

Hi Steve, to be fair to your Mrs assuming she bought the plate from the DVLA they do not offer plates with 42, in that style of plate they only offer 40 and 44 so she probably went with the best available. Best put it on the car rather than upset her and one advantage is if you change car you won't have to learn another plate and any parking permits etc.,.. can just be transferred from the old to the new as they have the same registration.

I have cherished plates on most of my cars, some are better than others but at the end of the day they are just a bit of fun.

If you close your eyes it looks perfect. ..no good for the current Ghibli, anything else that adds to the confusion between this model and Mazda, Audi and Citroën current range...

So, I've seen MA53 JON and MAS4 JON for sale - naff or not? I can't decide!

Okay, I decided to treat myself (well it is Christmas, right?) so I took MA53 JON which should be on mine in a few weeks if DVLA get their finger out. MA54 JON still out there if the other Jon wants it?!

I do realise half of you will like it and half of you will despise me for it, but hey!

Saw a couple yesterday, one good and one not so good. PA55 ERE on a driving school car, which looked quite good on the car and L14m FV on a BMW. It wouldn't have been so bad, except it had been mounted wonky on the rear which just made it look worse.

A guy who lives near me has SP53 DUP badly spaced as SP53D UP which has been on a few high end cars - 997 turbo, DBS, Bentley, Merc etc. I think he wants it to say speed up, but I always look at it and think it looks like spaz'd up. The way he drives would suit my version better.

hate **** like that, if your plate does not say what you want it to say, don't buy it!!

I would not think that said "speed up" if I saw it....agree with you

That's what we did.

M2 JBM Gransport
M22 JBM Volvo XC60
M222 JBM Volvo v40

I also have AT11 OLS on my daily smoker Volvo. If you know my name, you'll understand !

Need one for the biturbo now.

Might double the value of it if I do that Bob !

All kidding aside, I'll pick up a dateless plate at some point when I find a cheap one. I don't like the Northern Irish style, prefer the 3 letter, 3 number combo like 868 TRG etc.
