My New 4200

Well.. after planning on taking around 6 months to sell my 3200 it happened in 3 days! Coinciding with that was Richard Grace advertising a cheap 4200 on here.. and well.. one thing led to another and here we are.

Totally different car to the 3200, if they didn't share the same body shell you'd swear they were different cars! Need to get a fruitier exhaust installed and the ride height lowered, but for the time being I'm loving tearing around in it.

Thank you to Richard Grace for bringing the car to the forums attention and to Stuart Lockley (Soprano Stu on eBay) for bringing the car back up to such a great standard and being a real gent to deal with.

My Maserati-less life lasted all of 2 days in the end! Result :)

Looks great. Enjoy. Will be interesting to hear just how different to the 3200 after you get a few miles in. I saw the car when I was down at Stuarts, looked very nice, though it was on silver wheels then. Black wheels suit it, but then I'm biased ;)

The whole car is in great shape. Stuart really did go above and beyond worrying about the little details to make it as good as possible.

Only got a couple little jobs left to do which should could me amused for a while. Need to stick on the last of the badges and also find out why it's so difficult to fill with fuel. Think the breather pipe is blocked or kinked.. spits petrol out if I use anything but the smallest amount of trigger at the pumps.

Spotted you cruising down the M6 yesterday. Wound the window down to check for decibels. Concur more fruit required. Very nice and looks great on the move.

There is a plastic part in the filler neck that can be broken and forced down the filler pipe if the old size petrol pump filler is forced in.
This may be the issue with the difficult refuelling.

That would have been the 5 minutes I wasn't stuck in a traffic jam during my 7 hour crawl home! :)

Peter.. I can see the little plastic flap which opens and closes fine, is this the piece you mean?

Cheers

I understand there is a extra bit behind that. Emblem noted mine was damaged on 4200 #2 but I never vot round to having it fixed. I used to turn the pump nozzle upside down to ease filling.

Will do some digging and see if I can find any blockages...
