Multistorey Chichester

Sorry. Very dull, and quite specific, question. Has anyone taken a GT into the multistorey car park in Chichester? The rather fancily named "Avenue de Chartes" one.

Visiting relatives this weekend and I know there are an abundance of other, flat, parking options, but I have always parked here (in other cars) as pretty much no one else can be bothered to park up top, and so the chances of getting dinged are about as low as it gets in a public car park. However...first time in the GT and the ding-risk needs to be balanced against the damage/embarrassment risk of getting stuck or scraping the underside badly!

Thanks

No, but have you tried Just Park? Mostly private driveways rented out per time slot.
I've used it in London many times - convenient, never had a problem and surprisingly economic.

Interesting option, thanks. I'm vaguely aware of these sorts of apps, but never actually thought to use one... Definitely bookmarked even if I don't use it this week.

Drop Matt a line... he lives there... not in the car park btw!

Cant say Ive ever been in the Mulitstory and probably wouldn't in a Maz.

There is the market car park but if you want, you can leave your car at my office over the weekend, I dont mind and it will be safer there. Its about a 10-15 min walk into town. PM me for the address.

I was there in my GTS last weekend visiting my folks and old friends. I think I lapped Chichester twice before I found a safe slot near the cathedral. Watching many of the ancient inhabitants negotiate the roads and car parks of Chichester made me very nervous. I am sure some of them really shouldn't be on the road....

Matt is not that old... you must have seen him before his first strong coffee... he can hustle once his bones warm up. ;)

Guy is correct, the locals are very, very old and very frustrating. The no go area of Chi is Waitrose car park on Pension day, its horrific!

I'd count my in-laws in that bracket. Just back safely from Spain with their caravan... no idea how! I used to buzz around and park all sorts of places there when I was 17 in my fiat panda, but a bit more fussy these days!

I use this all the time too. There's usually a comment if the access is tight though. In central London at the weekend, you can get pretty close to all the main attractions for a fraction of the price of either rail tickets or main NCP type car parks. App on my phone can book a spot in minutes - recommended.

That made me laugh! My father who is 84 refuses to shop in Waitrose because of all the old people in the car park....
