According to various, pro-western telegram channels, the head of Wagner PMC is on the warpath to Moscow. He's not happy with the Ministry of Defence and it's corruption. Go figure! Anyway, there's a warrant for his arrest for inviting rebellion.
Get your popcorn ready this could be good for Ukraine.
You honestly couldn't make it up. Maybe the 50billion additional aid offered by the EU to Ukraine has gone to the Wagner group

It's a complete clusterf***, Prigozhin says he's going after the MOD and top general for shelling the Wagner compound in Ukraine. Putin has issued an arrest warrant but Russian troops are just laying down their arms on the route from Rostov to Moscow. Other troops in Ukraine are offering to withdraw from the front.

My only feelings are that Prigozhin is a bit of an ultra-nationalist but has seen the ill effects of the kleptocrasy within the military so could be more effective in Ukraine militarily. I don't see this as a positive for Ukraine.

If the RU forces put up no resistance...

That said, I'm not sold on the idea that Prighozhin would continue to press on Ukraine if his coup is successful. As opposed to someone who is trying to recreate the USSR through brute force he doesn't have.

The path to being his nation's new George Washington is paved with peace and economic dividends, for himself and others. I have no doubt that the US would funnel considerable "aid," in addition to the dropping of sanctions and normalization of relations that would further line the pockets of the oligarchy if the invasion were abandoned. But he needs complete control of the country first. Because as long as the "regular" assets are engaged on the Ukrainian front, they can't mass up against him. Not entirely certain, but my understanding is Wagner employs roughly 30,000 troops. Which is a pittance if there is determined opposition to his efforts.

I caveat all this by saying rich guys aren't necessarily smart guys.

Didn’t something like this happen there about 30 years ago?

I just pray that somehow this latest development leads to the end of Putin and his regime and that it can lead to the end of this pointless war.
Oh and if the man himself catches a bullet to the head along the way that would be a nice bonus.

Annndddd relax, it's all over. The march of Wagner has stopped and turned back. Putin is believed to have fled ton St Petersburg along with many of his kleptocrasy. Looking at various telegram accounts, many regiments and Oblast governors sided with Wagner. I wonder how they feel now or worse their comrades in arms in Ukraine, knowing that they have someone untrustworthy next to them.

Lessons learnt,
Putin is a scaredy cat, along with his oligarch mates, who jumped on planes to Turkey or Dubai.
Russian Helicopters fall out of the sky easily.
Russian Army don't like a fight nor do the FSB or police
Russian population, don't give a fk, same sh!t, different dictator .
Ukraine made some gains today, I believe they have crossed the Dnieper south of Kherson near to Antonivka..

Anyone else think that this weekend’s shenanigans was simply cash related?

Piggy got wind that his safe was going to be raided and sent his boys hairing up the motorway. When it became clear Pucking had got there first, he had to broker a deal to save his life and salvage anything he could.

Rats in a barrel.

Animal farm was on Film 4 last week, very apt for yesterday's and today's Russia.

Makes you glad we live in the West, where we can be critical of those in power and corruption is minimal.

Putin just had thank you ceremony for the Security Services for their critical rôle in defeating the obviously NATO backed fascist army rolling up the M4 from Rostov on Don (I don't think Sally traffic reported it!) . I sent to remember a JCB digging up a road, but I may have been mistaken.

1984 rewriting of history.
