As suggested by F.Crud esquire, I've created this thread to introduce to you my 2012 Granturismo GT Sport.
As some of you may know, I bought it off Fangio63 four weeks ago, picking it up the following week in the snow and ice. Not a nice welcome to 460bhp.
I've been looking at GT Sports for a while and I wasn't expecting for it to come so quickly as I was waiting to sell my Venerable Coupe before taking the plunge.
I wanted a Sport rather than the S as the nose looks so much more aggressive.
It's the 4.7 with the automatic ZF gearbox, in Océano blu. Luckily a previous owner extended the warranty which came in handy as the gearbox developed an issue. Maserati elected to replace it completely, forwarding the old gearbox to back to ZF.
It's in great condition and a credit to its previous owner. However there's a few things to fix, such a some worn trim and an annoying stone chip on the nose. Fangio has recommended trim nation for the repair of the later.
The size difference is noticeable moving 'up' from a Coupe, both in driving and washing it. The roofline is higher in a GT and it's a tighter squeeze past garage door jambs. Now i get why JonW moved the other way into a GS.
I've not driven it much as I concentrating on selling the Coupe before I really treat myself to the GT. However driving round the cul-de-sac raises a smile from the roaring open valve start.
I've prattled on a bit, so here's a few pictures.
See if you can spot that chip
