removed n/s and o/s mirror mounts and gave them a makeover , the only bad bit of paint work on the car, acid etched and then primed then water base then clear coated,
all good, while removing the main loom plug for these from the door end, 2 pins badly corred and other door the multiplug had one broken pin, so all repaired,

I was quoted £700 for that job so you have saved youself a fortune! Well done. Maybe some day I'll summon the courage to have a go.

Nice job Martin! I had the rubbers off the doors to clean some corrosion to the chrome under them and often looked at the mirror mounts, they do stick out like a sore thumb! But I'd really like a set of facelift mirrors.

it is easy to remove, time consuming but easy. door card off only to unplug the yellow plug , the black triangular cover off on the inside of the mirror, 3 allen bolts off the mirror and that comes off with the black triangle piece attached, the black triangle piece is held on with two phillips machine screws, underside of mirror mount is 3 philips screws they hold the mirror head to the mount, then with door card removed, you can see the large yellow plug thas the mirror loom, un clip the yellow plug, the remove the plug cover, ( slide small black cilp the n the plug large housing slides off the plug, then the plug will pass through the mirror mount, allowing you to seperate the mount from the mirror head by passing the loom through the mount when i removed my yellow plug 2 pins badly corroded on one side and 1 pin number 6 was completely broken off with corrosion, i also repainted the gloss black triangle pieces that hold the mounts small corrosion at the bottom of these , satin black water base then clear coated ,so some repairs done at the same time, all screws copper slipped up on reassembly , if you want to bodge and speed the job up it you could just remove the whole mirror and mask up , that's no a good job imo
