This one was up before, what are they really worth?
There is a late Yellow SS up for auction @ Bonhams with a £20-25k estimate with bills for £46k in the last 10 years.
Assuming this one needs significant restoration work you are probably going to see £10k plus disappear on top of the purchase price which puts you close to the Bonhams car, which looks like you buy and use straight away. I think I know which one I would buy.

A good one starts with a 3, and a better one starts with a 4. For restoration, 10k wouldn't even rebuild the engine, or do all the bodywork and paint properly. The days of a decent Merak selling for a figure in the twenties are gone I'm afraid. McGraths had a couple of nice ones for sale in their thirties a month or two back - both needed some work, and both are now sold.
