I

I thought Maserati said it will be priced noticeably below the Ferrari Portofino.

See I think it will be 175k which is a mistake don't you think?....This is Maserati way....Look at those Trofeo models...Over 100k for a Ghibl !!!!..They are better undercutting the rivals to bring customers in...…..If they could aim this at around Aston Vantage money they would surely sell a shed load....

Despite the management I still like the marque but, tbh, if I was going to spunk £175k+ on a car it wouldn’t be on this. Depreciation is going to be a problem, it always is with a Maserati, so I’d have to go for a dancing donkey. Sadly, I think it has too much competition around that price point and Ferraris will resist depreciation better and will be more desirable come resale time. A shame really.

This is true and will only be circumvented if Maserati limit production numbers to something stupid like 500 units

The front in that rendering looks worse than the ugly front in the leaked photos. Looks too much like the bottom-feeding snout on the MC12.

I think, with their admission that they are listening to their costumers that they will wait, gauge the reaction and then price it to what they think they can get away with (maximum)

if you look at the pricing structure of the current line up it won’t be nearer £100k. It won’t be £300k either as they won’t sell many.

This is a current production model full time line at Modena so they will be churning out volume.

The upcoming GranTurismo will be £100k plus so earlier reports of the £160~175k are about right I feel.

Residuals will be key to sales success. Will it do an MC12. I don’t think so, too many produced.

Personally, as lovely as it is, I am now more excited about the GranTurismo being a winner.

It certainly looks like a 175k car and the performance figures suggest it's playing with even more expensive machines.....0-60 in 2.9 seconds is pretty impressive.

I am encouraged - clearly FCA having sold Ferrari, it is going to invest in Maserati. £160-£175k based on the reported US list price, and I hope it works for the brand

I’m not sure if Maserati would have gleaned much useful information by listening to theatrical or fancy dress suppliers ☹️

I think it could end up being a long term winner, as it will be rare. The reason it will be rare is because I doubt many people will buy them, as they're bad value compared to competitors.

If they were listening to customers and existing owners they would be maintaining spares for their classics too. You need the 2nd and 3rd hand owners to take over the cars of those that buy new.

This !
It annoys me they use our cars for marketing and showing their heritage but you cant buy a part for a gransport never mind my old Ghibli. I had to spend thousands getting some guy in a shed to make engine parts for it. Zero support for their heritage.

Aside from a few prominent models in the front row, I couldn't see a 3200/4200/GS/QPV anywhere... which I think itself speaks volumes from a perspective of how much thought/regard they're perceived with.
