MC Stradale under 100k

Ok I am going to go and say it, I think the MC is overpriced for what it is over the GTS.

The MC suspension kit is £3k, the wheels are negligible over the standard ones. You loose the back seats and gain a roll bar (pointless and the cost would be a straight swap)

Alcantar instead of leather, well that's a saving on material costs. Engine remap (DMS £700 and better results -505hp over 465 ish).

A few bits of trim, it's worth no more than £7k over the GTS and costs what, £30k or so more, I just don't get it.

In short you give me a GTS and 7k and I'll give you a car that looks the same and outperforms the MC.

I recon I could very easily offer up the rear seats from a GTS for a swap on eBay for the roll cage and I would have a que down the street.

I think the GS / 4200 is very different.

No difference in power, it was only a little more expensive, I think the GS LE was about £75k, 4200 about £65k and you got different seats, centre dash, carbon fibre consul, steering wheel, better suspension, faster rack(?), side skirts, zenons(?) and 4 seats and no heavy roll bar.

I might have missed a few items but you get the point.

I think the MC substituting the rear seats for a heavy roll bar just makes no sence, you are no more likely to roll an MC than a GTS.

The roll cage is just marketing bling but so is the whole car. 1770kg does not make a street racer/track car.

The GT is a brilliant.....well GT. As an everyday car it is brilliant. For a weekend toy I would take an Elise/Boxster S.

I do agree Matt...but I think I would still have one when the prices drop......when I say it at Paris it just draged me in...The GTS next to it just didn't get a look in........It look so much more aggresive and expensive over the standard car......But as I say you are right in you comments.

My 4-seat 'MC Stradale' was much cheaper than any of these ;)

However, don't forget that one of the major costs of the Stradale (contributing at least £10k+) over the GT-S is the ceramic brakes which can't easily be retrofitted (I looked into it....the ABS ECU is different and apparently requires a heap of electronics to be changed). These also will help the dynamics a lot (probably more than the suspension changes alone) such is the massive reduction in unsprung weight....not to mention the additional stopping power over the standard and very average brakes.

But....these still don't explain the £30k price difference and the massive initial depreciation is a testament to the car finding it's real market value (having said that, I am surprised at just how cheap these all-but-brand-new examples are)

The rear seats by the way are not really a viable retrofit either because, if you did fit them, you couldn't get to them as the front seats in the Stradale don't fold forward!! The US spec cars can't have the same front seats fitted that we get in Europe (something to do with safety regs) so they must get the standard seats which, as they fold forward and give access to the rear, allow the fitment of useable rear seats.

Oh....hi everyone :thumb3:

For MC Stradale money you could have a 2007 or maybe 2008 Ferrari 599....... I know what I would choose

I would have the Stardale...Don't like the 599 at all...........

Isn't the stradale 109k new which means its around 15k more than a GT S..........The ones at 120 have expensive paint, track pack which includes helmet etc as there is not a great deal on the options list.

I agree that you could upgrade a GT S to match or maybe better a Stradale but for me its the whole package and that includes the looks.............Do I think there are better cars out there..Yes.....But after seeing the car in Paris it just had me captivated.......

For me, the biggest single improvement in looks is the twin tailpipe arrangement. IMO it looks so much better than the standard GTS.

PLus the front for me Benny....When it was sat next to a GT S in Paris it just looked so purposeful....So much more aggressive...Just wanted to get in a drive...

I guess it's just one of those cars that gives you an itch that needs scratching. Here's hoping my numbers come up!

So the thread was first MC Stardale under 100k.....Well not that many weeks later I'm thinking first one uner 90k maybe.....

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2934078.htm

I think the reason for the big fall is that as great a car the MC Stradale is, they have removed the USP of the GT ( sexy coupe with seating for 4 adults with Italian badge ). Without those rear seats it has to compete with not so old 430's , Gallardo etc.

I agree Simon...been talked about to death on here about the need for rear seats...Lets face it if you want a track focused two seater the 911 GT3 RS is up there with the best if not the best.............I really want a GT3 RS a brilliant car...But I yearn for the Stradale even though it's not as good a track focused car as the RS....

Always wondered that...I don't see why not as they USA one has back seats.........Are we sure the sports seats don't so how wolhave a tilt function as the brochure says that the back is for storage so how would you get stuff in and out....You could reach around the seats but its a olong car and you would need arms like a monkey to reach right back.
