Are these external to the gearbox so can be replaced without too much hassle ? Looks like they are on the drawing.

Reading Bebs post and the fact that they are NLA might be the most difficult thing about fitting them o_O

I don't actually know that but will find out when I collect it. Would make sense that they are external.

Yes I was! The ‘park off’ warning appeared once it had idled for a couple of minutes and R finally engaged.
have av confirmed the fix? I’ve had the same issue, from looking at scantool data the reason behind the fault is the sensors reading below the threshold when cold (readings ok once warmed up) hence it won’t select reverse. The park off warning appears to be a side effect of the gearbox control module reporting to the park brake module not to engage the parkbrake as it doesn’t know the gear position.

They are replacing the potentiometer now and no doubt will confirm issue fixed once done.
I will update here.

hopefully that will be it. I have a potentiometer assembly ready to go on mine just need to find time to drop the gearbox.

****! That’s a great price.

The part is widely available - panic over - it’s also fitted to Lamborghini and Audis and it’s also available as an OEM unbranded part. It’s a potentiometer, not a nuclear switch… The problem of course is the Lamborghini/Ferrari and Maserati tax. The former is £1617 including VAT and available for next day delivery. Tempting at sub £500 for the pair… Must be an OEM part in a white label box…

Spoke to Aldous. AV are able to get to the actuator assembly without removing the gearbox, quite a few gubbins to remove though to get to it and not straight forward. The official Maserati guideline is to remove the gearbox to replace the potentiometer.

I understand from Aldous that the potentiometer has a mechanical part and that is what wears with mileage. I’m on 81,000 miles now.

I would drop the gearbox down at an angle with the roque tube still attached but AV know what they are doing.
