Neutral in a tunnel. Rev. Select gear. Off you go again.
Ahh, happy days
I have to say I've been through a couple recently in the Ghibli. Quite a laugh shifting down a few

Yup, that’s exactly what I would have done…Only at very low speeds in traffic if I “childishly” select neutral to “rev a little” and am close to stationery, I may have to apply the brake to select a gear.

My preference in a tunnel is to slow right down, shift into 2nd and snap into 3rd at about 7500rpm
There's a lot of discussion and I am happy to be corrected but I believe the informed opinion may be expressed as 'They share the same basics, but there are so many differences that you really can't call it a shared engine.

I've often wondered if we could do this, but I've never had the guts to try it!We used to do it on drives past. Select neutral, rev it, pull for a gear.
Works less well on a ZF equipped GT I confess.....

In my experience you can select N at speed and then pull the paddle and it will select the appropriate gear. Only at very low speeds in traffic if I “childishly” select neutral to “rev a little” and am close to stationery, I may have to apply the brake to select a gear.

Well sort of....
The engine isn't (really, AFAIK) and the box is Graziano from memory. Which is a bit like saying that my Bentley (or Granturismo) had a Hyundai box

It's direct?Don't try it on the ZF. Look at where you have to go from D > N....

It's direct?
That's for the ZF? Great to know. I should check the manual but it's deep in the depths of the boot still
I this is for the MCThat's for the ZF? Great to know. I should check the manual but it's deep in the depths of the boot still
I wouldn't do that at speed. I imagine the torque converter might not be happy about it.No. That's the MC.
Now I was convinced that you had to go through reverse to get to neutral on the ZF, but having just checked the manual, I was totally wrong, so I can't really see any reason you might not want to go D>N rev it and back to D.

fun fact: you can bump start a MC Shift car, ignition on, good push and a couple of right paddle clicks and off she goes. Ask me how I know, some other time.
