Maserati v Ferrari

I go out a lot with all sorts of Ferraris and I can see why people do like them. However, especially in regard to the 360, I have never thought 'I will chop the spyder in and get one of those'. Mine may be one of the cheaper cars there but it always punches way above its weight and I just love the feeling I get when I open the taps and unleash 'the love' from the straight throughs. It never gets old and I cant see me ever getting rid of her. I must be a gentleman!

Its Maserati all the way for me.

They do everything I need them to do.
They cruise superbly, long journeys are effortless and comfortable (like an Aston)
I can take a couple of passengers with me also in comfort (like a Bentley)
It flies when I get the urge (almost like a Ferrari)
And my AC is almost as rarely seen as a Lambo

Why have 4 when 1 will do

Nope, I want an Aston V12 Vantage....I don't want to be anyone else but me.....and I really don't want people to think I'm someone else...

I fancied an Aston until I realised it had so much Ford in it and that spoilt it for me.

Good thread! Maseratis are a bit less "obvious", at least in my opinion. I'd love a 430 Scud or a 599 but they lack the daily usability and the 4 seats of the GTS. I passed an Aston DBS and a 360 today and whilst both looked and sounded great I wouldn't have chopped mine in for either (other than to sell the Aston and buy a 4-seat Stradale). So until I have the money for one of them I reckon I'll be keeping the Maser (all being well, anyway).

Yeah, high on my list. Not sure if I'm in the right place when it's time to change again. Vantage or GT...

....GT. Aston charges what they think they can get and they all look alike. DBS is nice but the depreciation is horrific which I reckon points to the fact they are way over-priced. A guy I know paid around 80k for a 3 year old DBS with 9k. £10 a mile plus running costs. Ouch.

GT does sound rather more likely :)

Test drove a couple of V8 Vantages last year before I bought my GS. Lovely car, but for me not worth the cash and loads where I live, so not exclusive.

I reall don't care if there are more of them about for me the Vantage is one of the most Beautiful cars on the road......Love the GT but I've said before that the rear end doesn't look finished for me...It's like the designers had loads of inspiration when they started...and they started at the front and when the got to the rear it was late in the day and wanted to go home.......Don't get me wrong I love the GT but it ain't perfect in design....Where as for me th Vantage looks stunning from any angle.....As I understand it though ou have to have the V12 or at least the 4.7 as the original car was a little lacking.....

With you on that Andy, and will scratch the Aston and Ferrari itch some day as life is too short...and given the way Maserati of pushing barges out now we may have no choice.

Not a truer word said, we may have no choice.
Having insulted all those who genuinly like Astons, apart from apologising, I too dislike the rear end of the GT, the upside down Mondeo lights and the boot shape never gelled with me. Fabulous car but not perfect.
Tried the DB9 and found it slower than the QP unless you were wringing its neck, tried the v8 vantage and nearly lost my fillings then at Millbrook played with the V12 for half a day. Should have been 95 - 100k max. Great car if you can get one for sensible money.

I reall like the DB9 but with you on how it performs...It ma have a V12 but it didn't feel like it....Still a great looking Aston though.

BJL, so glad its just not me who thinks the rear end of the GT doesn't gell...

Ryan reckoned the manual V8 Vantage was one of the worst cars he ever drove; heavy clutch, clunky gear change, soft in the corners and not as quick as he was expecting. They do sound quite nice though.

See loads of F types as Jag dealer is just up the road from me. It's a great looking car, the V6 is a bit pants but I've heard the V8 is a stonking car, should be at £80k+ for a 2 seater roadster.
