Would anybody be interested in joining in for a bulk order of the Sealant bottles..??
If so let me know how many and what size you need..!!
Depending on the car, I believe the refills are mainly 450ml.

I am looking at negotiating a good price for a quantity with the manufacturer..!!

Cheers

They have a 5 year life span if it's full and it tells you the size on the bottle.

Well it is somewhat out of date... Says June 2004 so if it was supplied when the car was new it had only 14 months on it!

But it is 750ml Rob

Newton,
That looks a different brand / type. Does that fit in to the compressor..?? I see it's 750ml. The one I was talking about was the type that screws in to the Maserati compressor, made by TEK / Fix & Go. Who makes that one and does that fit in to your compressor..??

No Rob no compressor this is a single shot fill your tyre enough to get you going with some junk to slow the deflation. I guess that rules me out of your group buy then!

I doubt it would work on anything more than a slow puncture anyway, the instructions say:

Pull out the object that caused the puncture if possible, put the valve to the top, let out any remaining air. Shake then attach the can and holding it vertically and squirt continuously until the tyre is full up to pressure.

Ok so how do I know when it is up to pressure????

I did use one of these on a motorbike once but it was a disaster... Long time ago mind...

Dependant on the gunk used, some won't repair them if they are messy. This Maserati stuff says leave the object in, put the gunk in, roll the wheel, then pump it up to pressure with the compressor. I will have a look and see what other stuff they offer.

So what happens when you want to get the tyre repaired..?

With Goop, I never needed to get the tyre repaired. That was the point, it's repaired automagically.

They get a bit messy when it comes time to *change* the tyre, mind.

Not happy with using this stuff.
If you get a nail in the tyre it goes down, you fix it.
With Goop you get a nail in the tyre, it does not go down, you may not notice it, it may be in the side wall of the tyre.
Do you really want to drive around with nails etc in your tyre, maybe unnoticed with the head broken off, sealed with Goop or similiar?

So you never got it repaired? I guess its effectiveness depends upon the severity of the puncture.

I got two punctures and the goop (and various other ones I tried) didn't work. I agree if it does fix your puncture its probably a slow puncture and a small compressor would probably be as effective at getting you to help. I bought a proper spare and after one more puncture (when i discovered i needed different bolts for the space saver wheel) have not had a puncture since!!! So if you buy a spare you stop getting punctures by Murphy's law presumably.
